Overall not a bad stay. The room was clean, the bed comfortable. My only real criticism was that there was to be a continental breakfast included. When we went to check out the next morning I inquired where the breakfast was. The host said 'oh, you would have needed to order that the evening before'. WTH? No one said a peep about that when I checked in. Didn't appreciate that at all out of principal.

Some useful information: steep steps to upstairs rooms; no elevator. Staff readily helped with luggage. No on site parking; free parking 1.5 blocks away. B’fast available for $15CD - but must book night before using QR code. No individual AC control; set to 21C. Housekeeping every other day

They don’t tell you when you’re booking that it’s made up of three separate buildings. So I was placed in a building that did not look like the photos posted. That was the only reason I booked it. I was so excited to explore and take photos. But I was out in a plain building that hallways looked like a motel. The room was fine. But I booked it for the building and the experience. Receptionist saw I was crying about it and at first was helpful. Said she’d speak to the managers and that they’d contact me. They never did. Receptionist later answered my call and said it is what it is, you booked on Expedia and they would not be able to help at all. Again, managers never called. I’m pretty sure one of the managers was staring at me when I checked out. She stood there staring, made me uncomfortable, but never spoke a word to me. The room was okay, furniture clearly wobbly and old. Had to call the receptionist twice for hand soap on the bathroom. Some of the toiletries were empty on arrival. Would not recommend. If you do stay, call and ensure you’ll be in the main building otherwise you will be wasting hundreds of dollar.

This is a conveniently located hotel downtown Halifax you can walk to the waterfront and all the shops and restaurants. It was very clean and beautiful. The hotel staff were very helpful at giving us suggestions of things to do and where to eat.

The garden was a lovely spot to relax after a long drive. Our rooms, each with a balconey overlooking the garden were ideal; nicely furnished and well equipped. The place has a gracious vibe, with attentive but not intrusive staff. The location is ideal for those who wish to be near the water. Parking in this town is at a premium, so to have it available was a bonus. A delightful stay all round.

What a gem of a place! A thoughtfully restored and decorated old building, with the plus of off-street parking and truly outstanding staff. This was our first trip to Halifax but not our last; we will certainly come back to the Halliburton

Room was spacious and had central air so there was not a noisy AC unit in the room. We conveniently parked right around the corner with in-and-out privileges. We ordered breakfast in advance and ate in the library which has a great atmosphere. Just a very nice overall ambiance at the hotel. Easy walk to the waterfront.

We loved everything about this place. From location, the staff and most of all, its charm. We would definitely recommend The Haliburton House Inn.

The hotel is close to the waterfront and restaurants. There’s a nice patio and a happy hour at the hotel. We didn’t partake but it would be great if staying multiple nights. We checked in early and our bags were delivered to the room as we were off to the waterfront to explore. If you have mobility issues, may not be for you but we were very happy with our room and the accommodations.

The overall vibe of the property was excellent. Walking into the parlour/library for morning coffee (there was a coffee maker in our room as well) to sitting outside for happy hour in their beautiful garden. The bed was comfortable, the room really nice. The central location, a couple blocks from the harbour was ideal, no car needed.

Great location offering a short walk to most Downtown Halifax sights, shops and amenities. Staff at check in were very welcoming. The inn is more than one structure, we stayed next door to the main building in a large and comfortable room on the main floor. There is ample parking in a lot behind the inn + they have a lovely garden between the lot and the inn that's a perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee.

Spotless room and surroundings. Staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The house, boutique type accommodation was delightful. Proximity to waterfront, great. Only complaint - no elevator. Being on the top floor was particularly difficult. Had we known this, I would not have stayed there.
