This is a basic motel--very basic. I am usually in town doing activities, and need a motel to sleep and shower. It is not a clean motel and the mattresses are less than basic but it is inexpensive. Know what you are getting. It serves the purpose for me but it is not a motel that you would take a wife/girlfriend or significant other to, to have a relaxing stay. BUT it does serve the purpose of a shower and bed.

Probably the dirtiest, most run-down property I've ever stayed at. The furniture might've been trash-picked off the curb, the beds looked slept-in, with cigarette burns in the bedding (in a non-smoking room), the power sockets were caving into the wall, and the sink was blocked with vape components and... fungus? I'd sleep in my car before staying here again. I recommend bulldozing the place and starting again. The receptionist was pleasant, helpful and oblivious to the quality of the rooms.

Property was easy to find. Bed was comfortable as were the pillows; however, the bathroom left something to desire. It was clean but definitely could use a refresh of walls and tub. The room smelled off when we first got there but seemed to improve once the air conditioner circulated the air. I would not consider their “free continental breakfast” sufficient. Only options were toast or a bagel and I had to put my toast through 3x and only one side toasted even after that. And yes I turned it over. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient and even moved us to a main floor room when she noticed I was using a cane and had limited mobility which was greatly appreciated. All in all it was an okay experience and a decent price point.

Need to do a new renovation

Bed was extremely over used and broken, definitely needs an update. TV never worked. Wifi kicked in and out all the time. Would not recommend.

We stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago, the room we had last time was in decent condition. This room was in need of repairs, needed some updated furniture (the chair had rips and stains) and had a musty odor. We likely could have asked for a different room, but in the end stuck with the one we had. The staff seemed friendly, and it is very affordable. Next year, we will be looking at a different hotel.

We were kept up for many hours by dogs barking in what seemed like every second room on our floor. This was magnified by thin walls, Our door safety chain was broken. The room key always took 4-6 attempts before working. The mattresses were AT LEAST 3 YEARS PAST THEIR REPLACEMENT DATE WITH SPRINGS STICKING OUT OF ONE. Walls needed painting throughout and the carpets were desperate for a cleaning especially on the stairs. The advertised all included breakfast consisted of toast, coffee, tea and orange type juice. Wow! The bathroon was clean.

I was very disappointed with my stay. When we went to strip the bed because I had lost a ring, we discovered a large, brownish stain on the sheets that looked like baby feces and the sheets clearly had not been changed before our arrival. This is unacceptable for any hotel, especially a Hyatt, and it caused me distress and concern for cleanliness. The front desk was not informed as my husband said what difference is it going to make as we were checking out anyways, but the situation and the fact that housekeeping had missed such an obvious stain seriously undermined my confidence in the room’s hygiene.

Staff was great

The Stay at Econo Lodge has been more than satisfactory, the room allocated was clean and tidy on arrival and matches descriptions. The building itself does need some love here and there no doubt but nothing concerning. Staff from front desk to housekeeping throughout were polite and informative and ready to assist and any issues or request I had was met with polite enthusiasm to help. There are typical amenities available at this budget friendly location and the breakfast available is basic food and such to help yourself to make if you need it. Econo Lodge u is surrounded by food restaurants and a dollarama(always useful) literal minute walks away and it's in just the right spot to head out and explore the city with a bus stop nearby and local taxi's and "app services" to get you around if you don't have a vehicle. There's generally ample parking space on site and nearby. It's not going to be an issue unless it's a busy period than be prepared. Although you can never know who your fellow guests may be during my stay the atmosphere was calm enough throughout to me. I'd have no issues booking here again when needed.

Not the greatest

The staff was very friendly. I found mould in my room, the hallways reeked of marajuana, the carpet was dirty and peeling off the floor, the towels were dirty when we arrived and there was no continental breakfast as advertised (only bagels and toast and coffee)

Parking was convenient and had quite a few restaurants within walking distance.

The beds were very uncomfortable. My bed actually went lopsided when I lay down on it.

My reservation was made on the wrong day. I got there and the clerk told me there was no room for me. She had another room available and gave it to me for the same price. Other than that everything was quite fine.
