Nice hotel and spacious room but not so clean. Dust under the bed. Staff very helpful and friendly. Heater bathroom not functioning and poor lights at bathroom mirror. Good thing was a bath and separate shower. Our view was the parking exit....

Room was spacious and perfect with the family. Sofa bed convert to two single beds albeit very close together. The rooms looked recently updated. The only down side was the service in the restaurant for dinner, we had the kids and it was late due to travelling but service was slow.

Must admit I’m confused what to expect from Mercure these days. It’s hard to tell the really quality from the more basic in the same band. This is one of the more basic. It shares a lot of its facilities- check in, bar, restaurant, parking with the attached Ibis. The location is a bit off putting at first but is only a 5-10 min walk to the main centre, restaurants etc, The room was okay for the money, clean and spacious but pretty basic. The parking underground is ridiculously tight for large cars but do-able with care. Costs about €15 for 24 hours. Disappointing that in the fitness room only the treadmill seemed to work & on some days both the sauna or steam room were turned off

Really nice hotel conveniently located on the outskirts of Rouen. Property was in excellent condition, modern and clean rooms and well equipped bathrooms. Very welcoming front desk who were predominately multi-lingual. The surrounding area felt safe, but was busy as you’d expect for a city centre hotel. Parking was secure underground, really good if you were stopping en route to another destination, and very reasonable rate (something like €1.50 per hour). Breakfast was of great quality and a decent variety of options (continental, cereals, cheeses, some fruit - our only minor observation is there could have been more variety of fruit!)

Rouen is a lovely city to walk and visit. Great place to soak in history, talk with people and rethink your life priorities.

Every day something was broken: plumbing problems flooded floor, shampoo holder, telephone to reception, stop working keys, paper cups in the room , no apologies, breakfast is extremely poor, espresso machine was broken, dirty bathroom, dirty glasses, very difficult parking. Staff is rude, almost no English. We were stayed in the basement room near the garage exit: smell, noise. One star hotel could be better. Nobody cares about anything.

We booked a ‘privilege room’ for my partner & 2 children age 5 & 7 as this was the option for sleeping 4 people. When we arrived it was clear the hotel was undergoing building works internally with no apparent reception desk for the hotel which shared an entrance with the Ibis hotel next door. Our room smelt strongly of paint, it had a separate study room which had a sofa bed for the kids. The furniture was really sparse. In the entrance hallway, it was really dark, it needed extra wall lights and a console to put items on. The main bedroom needed at least a chair & side table. Plug sockets didn’t work by the headboard. No sockets in hallway so we had to charge our phones in the kids/ study room over night. The coffee machine was in the kids / study room so not ideal for making a drink when the kids have gone to bed. The windows were able to fully open in both rooms with no safety closing mechanism, not ideal for two young children sleeping in the sofa room. The bathroom although well presented with soaps, shampoos, etc didn’t have a heated towel rail which we found very odd. The toilet room was separate without a basin which we find very unhygienic. The ‘privilege room’ felt very ‘temporary’ with very thin walls between rooms, decorating details such as paint work, grouting in bathroom all very messy, not to a 4 star hotel standard. It was disappointing to have all of these items dampen our experience at the hotel and we would not return because o

Hotel under reconstruction. The sixth floor was being painted and had the floor covered with plastic. Room was decent but had a view of the fire escape and parking. The parking was incredibly tight. Good luck if you have a mid size car. The restaurant was new and some items were not available but the staff was just great.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Immediately upgraded us when our air conditioning did not work. Clean, modern rooms. Appreciated having on site parking.

The location was great, parking on site was also Appreciated, & the staff were very friendly & the breakfast buffets was delicious. However, the cleanliness of our unit—the bathroom in particular, needed attention! The bathroom tile was moldy; the shower curtain was dirty. & full of mold & scum at the bottom; the mirror light did not work & was not fixed even when we told the front desk person about it twice.

It was a last minute decision to stay at the Mercure in Rouen. The directions were hard to follow. The parking lot was awful. The hotel lobby, staff, and room was very nice. We enjoyed the stay.
