Great location and room. The only issue was the air conditioning even though it was new it did leak water and needed to be fixed. Other than this set back the room was new and interesting and was walking distance to a lot of sites.

It was a perfect place to stay. The rooftop was a beautiful place to have a drink in the evening.

Friendly staff

The room was spotless and comfortable, the staff were attentive, the location couldn't be better, and the food was really good. The rooftop terrace has impresive views and is a nice place for cocktails and tapas. We had a great time!

It's unique I will grant. But the remodel, new part appears totally unfinished. They explained it was the intenion of the design, but screws showing through what is obviously a fake cement wall (pladur) is not design - it's just a cheap finish and that's the impression it gave. I know it was in a design magazine, but it reminded me of the fable of the king's clothes in which everyone says how beautiful they are but in reality he's wearing nothing. For a hotel that's hard to get to - no parking, no drop off - and what feels like an unfinished remodel, it's not worth it.

The price was very affordable and the location is perfect. It was so close to everything( Plaza Zocodver is 3mins walk) and it was very safe area.

We had an excellent stay at Hotel Carlos V. Check-in was smooth and easy, and the staff was efficient, friendly, and welcoming throughout our visit. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, with a great variety of fresh options, and the restaurant staff was especially professional, kind, and attentive. We also truly appreciated the reception team for helping us arrange transportation to the Puy du Fou show, which made everything so easy. The terrace atmosphere and amazing views were a highlight, and the hotel’s central location made exploring Toledo very convenient. We would happily stay here again and continue creating wonderful memories in Toledo. Highly recommended!

It is in a nice location. Close to everything and a very safe place.

I can't imagine staying at a property other than The Hotel Carlos V in Toledo. It is a full service property with history and renovated rooms. The staff is top notch -- one young front desk person went on a hunt through housekeeping with me to find a pillow more to my liking. The location is in the heart of everything. Footsteps from the bus the circulates between the Renfe train station and the core of the ancient city. The hotel is next to the Alcazar and very close to the main town square. The cathedral and all historic sites in the upper town are a 15 minute, maybe 20 minute at the most walk from Carlos V. The breakfast was never ending. All kinds of hot foods, gourmet pastries, fruits, coffee, beverages -- all for 14 euro. I went in May, an ideal time for central Spain, and the price was well below 100 euros for the room plus taxes. My room was small, but very well appointed, spotlessly clean and with a comfortable bed and warm shower. I heard zero street noises. I was not happy that my economy room was located right in front of the pair of elevators -- but Carlos V must draw a high caliber client, because I heard none of the loud talking often associated with tipsy tourists stepping out of an elevator. This is not a little in or apartment that you never get service from after getting the key. This is a truly full service hotel. Toledo has so much going for it, I very highly recommend making it an overnight 2-day visit, rather than a day trip from Madrid.

Beautiful room

Terrific location in the centre of the old town. Easy walking distance to explore the historical sites of Toledo. Complimentary breakfast was great with a large assortment of hot and cold items. Would definitely stay again.

Everything was great

Very helpful reception staff, great blend of new rooms within historical building. Good location for busses and taxis but very peaceful.

Tucked away just steps from the Alcazar. A little hard to find on a motorcycle but there’s free motorcycle parking just across the square. Unfortunately the hotel’s rooftop bar was under renovation but otherwise it’s a great choice. Breakfast either early or later to avoid the crowds on package tours. The room was delightful and well equipped. Recommended.

El desayuno estuvo rico y el cuarto comodo. Lastimosamente el aire acondicionado no funciono muy bien y el cuarto estaba muy caliente. No nos ofrecieron un descuento en el parqueadero. El hotel esta siendo remodalado y habia ruido de construccion en la manana. La razon principal por la que reservamos este hotel fue por la terraza y estaba cerrada.

Love the ambience. It's a place with great history and good amenities. Highly recommend it.

Everything was amazing

We stayed here from April 5-6, 2026. Hotel is in very good location. The only disadvantage is that there is no coffee in room. Room and hotel is very neat, towels are very good, bathroom design and shower design is very good compared to other hotels in Spain. Shower has door that closes completely, no water spillage to outside. Bathroom has door that closes completely. Breakfast location downstairs was an excellent breakfast with lot of choices and quality is there. Breakfast room has gothic architecture, very neat, ambience is very good. Very good quality hotel, we liked staying here and we can recommend to our family / friends.
