Comfortable bed and the staff were so lovely, very friendly and quick to respond. The shower itself was excellent. However, the bathroom sink was blocked and very slow to drain. Although staff attended promptly, the problem returned during the stay. There was also some noise from the corridor, particularly late in the evening. The hotel feels a little tired in places- reception carpet, corridors carpets and sofas in reception could do with updating. Some basic amenities were missing, such as hand lotion and a full-length mirror. Good location and helpful staff, but maintenance and overall condition affected the experience. I would consider returning in the future if the reception and communal areas were refreshed.

Staff were overwhelmed because of the influx of new guests stuck in BHam but this could have been prepared for and only having two members of staff and hence cancelling any food for guests was a stupid situation. Room was tired and drafty

Staff were very friendly. Room was good, just out dated. But the entire hotel, was so incredibly cold! Our room heater was locked and we couldn’t increase the heat past a certain threshold. If we were warm this place would be given a higher score

Check in was slow, the room is absolutely freezing, the bathroom is too cold to shower in! The bed is uncomfortable! Wouldn’t return

Great service from the front reception Mini and the breakfast staff. Room was lovely although the bed was too soft for us. Toiletries good quality Would definitely go back due to location as well as a lovely hotel

The Burlington is unique in that it adjoins the Railway Station and also fronts New Street the main shopping street. Built by The Midland Railway and containing the original beautiful Architecture. The bedrooms are large, the breakfast excellent and the staff perfect. We organised an event here via Ella and we booked 6 bedrooms. The most convenient location in Birmingham. Absolutely recommended.

Our overall experience was great so nothing in particular that we'd single out.

Lovely hotel in a lovely location. Adam and Lyndsey were so so helpful, I dont think Ive met a better reception anywhere else, this is customer service with a smile which is rare now. Rooms are big and spacious, lovely warm and cosy, just a great trip and stay all round.

On arrival at the hotel, we were greeted with very polite and friendly staff. The lobby and shared spaces were very clean and tidy, and very welcome after a long day of travelling. Upon entering the room, we found there was only one set of towels for two of us, which was quickly resolved by the front desk. Our stay was quiet, comfortable and very relaxing.

Have stayed here many times in the past due to the great location, quirkiness, design and history of the hotel. All previous stays were great. This one, not so much. Heating wasn’t working in the room and the shower dripped constantly waking us up. McDonald Hotels need to get back to the standard they had before.
