Perhaps outside of summertime our experience would have been different, but unfortunately it was difficult to enjoy this property without having air conditioning during the summer months. Our room was sweltering both nights, even with 2 fans constantly on and the window open. At night when the temperature cooled down, the common areas were comfortable yet our room still felt like a sauna, making it difficult to sleep. There is no lift or doorman to help with luggage through the gravel driveway or up the stairs. Also, we had scheduled dinner at the hotel restaurant and upon check-in, we checked that they could accommodate my wife's dietary restrictions and allergies. Unfortunately there wasn't anything on the menu she could eat, an no attempt was made to create something for her so we had to cancel the reservation. Our dinner the next night at a different hotel restaurant was a complete contrast. They provided my wife with several off-menu items to accommodate her allergies and made her feel welcome despite the allergies. I feel like any other time of year, our experience would have been much better but unfortunately this was a miss.

Absolutely lovely manor house with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff with so much hospitality. Great food, wonderful interior. We recommend this hotel to anyone, and we’d like to come back in the near future as well!

Staff was fantastic at breakfast and reception

Most Wonderful Experience! Beautifully cared for and renovated manor house. Superb grounds, excellent breakfasts, bar with a nice feel and aesthetic. Our room was incredible. Unbeknownst to us, management upgraded our room to a garden suite, which took our breath away. The suite was huge and gorgeously appointed, as was the bathroom. We had a private patio with a firepit. Gracious staff ensured that we had firewood, tea, snacks…anything we needed. We will definitely be staying here again!

Excellent staff and lovely room

The bedroom decor was exceptional and the bathroom spacious. We sat at the breakfast table for 40 minutes before we had anything to eat the 2 hot dishes arrived at once. Service seemed haphazard. Reception kindly reduced the bill when we checked out.

This property is beautiful from the outside however the rooms are tired. For the cost, the service is well below standard. All of the individual staff are lovely and trying very hard but it feels like there just aren't enough of them. Our room was very damp and smelt musty on arrival. When we mentioned this to the front desk we were recommended to open some windows. Items that were asked to be laundered were later found balled up in a corner of our room and items leftover from room service forgotten to be cleared away by housekeeping. Breakfast our first morning took nearly an hour due to understaffing and we watched staff scraping leftovers from other tables while we ate. If you are a 'light sensitive' sleeper, do not book! There is a bright green emergency exit light (apparently in every room) that will stop you from sleeping. Nothing to be done about this apparently.

Good location quality. Service was lacking in breakfast room. Not great value for the price - at this price level you would expect better staff service (staff lacking at breakfast, reception staff are not very welcoming) and you would expect more than one small bottle of water in the room, better range of teas in the room. We had requested earlier check in but there was no flexibility on check in and out times.

Breakfast were quite nice. But a little salty to me.

The hotel is a quintessential representation of an English countryside manor. Grounds are gorgeous, we loved our huge room and the pretty, old school bathroom, and the breakfast was high quality and delicious.

My favorite place to stay in all of Cotswolds! Very cool interior decor. Grand piano, Dyson hair dryer and room fan! Nespresso! Perfect!

The building itself is impressive and hotel service is overall friendly. But we booked as one adult one child, however additional charges are added for the child, which is not good. Also we found three spider webs in the room and we got reply “sorry” only…

The ideal Cotswold country house hotel. Good service and a reasonably sized room. The food is very expensive for what is presented, sadly very limited dairy free options.

Lovely hotel and beautiful grounds, but the staff were unhelpful when it came to sorting things out. The standard response to issues was simply 'it’s broken' – as if that was the end of the conversation. Everything seemed to be a ‘no can do’ situation, which was disappointing.
