The floors are slanted in the Sandman hotel. It’s in desperate need of renovations. The bathrooms are way too small. The toilets are the lowest toilets I’ve ever seen…. And I’m even talking about in preschools. The coffee pot was the wrong carafe for the coffee maker so the hot water stayed in the reservoir you had to use coffee stir stick to release the hot coffee into the pot, which is very frustrating and the TV had no instructions on how to get the Guide and figure out the channels so I even called the front desk and the person came up to help me couldn’t get it to work either so they move rooms and then the room that they gave us the air conditioner didn’t work … so they did take some money off the bill, which was absolutely awesome but it was a big hassle

Room was clean, staff were friendly. Pool was out of service. Doors were tricky, had to use door key to close the door when leaving the room.

We found a golf tee in our room and our toilet rocked you to sleep, but the lady at the front desk was very nice.

We stayed for five nights and staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and well maintained.

Do not stay at this hotel. There are train tracks right behind the hotel. Trains run regularly late at night.

Room was great and very spacious. Only concern was the beds were small. Had to put one of my kids on the floor as the double beds were just too squishy for 4 of us. But staff was very helpful to give me comforters and blankets to make a bed

Perfect for what we needed. My only complaint would be the big trucks that park on the side of building and start up really early and the gas fumes come through the heat/ac unit.

Old hotel. Had to slam room door shut or it wouldn't close because of how misaligned the latch was. Amenities were all closed/out of order. Staff were friendly, but neglected to mention until I checked out that housekeeping only comes when requested. Seems like something to mention up front when they do things the opposite way of every other hotel. Kitchenette lacked basics like cutlery. This place is fine for a night, but I don't see ever going back.

The front desk lady was very helpful she could tell I had some mobility issues. My biggest complaint is the bathrooms were not upgraded for people with issues. No hand rails in tub and toilet area, the toilet was so low I had to use door and tub to get up and down.

There was no elevator and the lady at the front desk offered to carry my luggage up the stairs. I’m a man so I said I would do it but it was a nice offer, very unexpected.

The property shows neglect and should be torn down. There are much better options in Cranbrook, as we learned while looking around.

We chose this hotel because it was advertised as pet friendly, which was important for us. The staff were genuinely very sweet and helpful throughout our stay, which we really appreciated. That said, the room we were assigned was quite disappointing. It felt run down and didn’t seem very clean, to the point where I kept my shoes on the entire time. The shower itself worked, but the tub spout diverter (the part used to switch water from the showerhead to the bathtub faucet) didn’t function properly. I’m not sure if pet-friendly guests are assigned specific rooms, but overall I wasn’t impressed with the condition of the room we stayed in. The saving grace of the experience was definitely the staff, who were kind, approachable, and very helpful.

The room was disgusting, the bathroom was FULL of black mould. Every corner in the room was full of dust, the safety lock on the door was ripped off, only 2 towels left out for us, the walls and doors are beat up. This hotel needs a serious face lift and they shouldn’t be charging $220 a night to stay. The staff couldn’t give us a refund as we booked through Expedia, they made up excuses as to why. Very disappointed.

Bathroom and fixtures could be updated.
