Honestly wouldn't recommend. We booked for a romantic getaway and seeing the pool and sauna and high end restaurant advertised thought it'd be a good pick. First the good: the staff were friendly and the rooms were clean with great amenities. The bad: spa access is only granted if you book way ahead and even then you only get a two hour slot and have to pay on top of the already rather high room prices. It's also advertised as "25€ per person per stay" but we would have had to pay each day we were there so only ended up going once. In general the website was very misleading. The food was very mediocre especially for the price. We tried to book the fine dining experience for our anniversary dinner but were told it was fully booked (which was fine but a heads up might be nice as we only found out after booking the rooms). The spa itself is just okay. The saunas are fine as is the pool and there's very few extras (jacuzzi, ice bucket and rainforest shower) I have been to many saunas in my life and this one is really very basic. We still had a gorgeous weekend due to the lovely company and the great weather so we had many a drink on the sunny terrace. Won't be booking again though.

We stayed at Dunboyne Castle last weekend and had a really lovely time. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We had dinner in the restaurant both evenings - the food was excellent and the service matched it perfectly, attentive and friendly without being intrusive. We also had room service breakfast which was brilliant - arrived promptly and everything was exactly as ordered. We also spent a good few hours in the spa and it was absolutely wonderful. The facilities are really impressive - loads of different rooms to explore and everything feels brand new and beautifully maintained. It never felt crowded either, so you could actually relax and take your time moving between the different areas without feeling rushed or on top of other people. Easily one of the best spa experiences I've had. Every member of staff we encountered throughout the whole stay went above and beyond to make us feel looked after. Dunboyne Castle is a special place and we'll absolutely be back. If you're looking for somewhere to unwind for a night or two not too far from Dublin, it's well worth it.

I stayed at Dunboyne Castle on Sunday, December 14th after arriving from the US, and it was the perfect start to my trip. Niamh at reception gave me the warmest welcome and kindly arranged an early check-in so I could rest—such a thoughtful gesture after a long flight. I enjoyed cocktails in the lounge that evening and the service was excellent. The buffet breakfast the next morning was delicious—the smoothie was a standout! The spa experience was truly exceptional. The renovated facilities are beautiful, and the thermal suite and relaxation rooms were incredibly calming. My mini-facial and massage were among the best I’ve ever had; the aesthetician was knowledgeable and attentive. The hotel has a relaxed vibe, is beautifully decorated for the holidays, and is surrounded by nature. The food was great, the rooms were comfortable, and every staff member I met was friendly and welcoming. I absolutely loved my stay and can’t wait to return. Highly recommend!

Amazing thermal spa which we took advantage of fully. Slightly overpriced. In the middle of nowhere with a small after thought of a gym, where the spa attendants will ask you to not make any noise while working out as they have converted all the closets into treatment rooms. Beautiful location though. The breakfast gets a bit old by day 2. Very nice staff and helpful. I recommend getting a place closer to Dublin. We had a rental car and it still felt far out...that might be a positive for some though.

A really enjoyable group Christmas night away. Dinner in The Ivy restaurant was delicious and service impeccable for a large group of 10. The Sadlier was really good for after dinner drinks and the live music created a great atmosphere. Room was spacious and bed very comfortable. Breakfast was busy but everything kept well stocked. I feel like the hotel’s location could benefit from some boundary treatment such as tree planting as a lot of the rooms and the spa are looking out across fields at a housing estate and school buildings. The hotel building itself though is lovely
