Great room, brilliant choices on breakfast buffet. Enjoyed the pool,hot tub and steam room. Great grounds and parking. Enjoyed the cask ale not just fizzy t bar beer. Had 2 great evening meals. Nice and quiet away from the hustle and bustle, lots to see and do within driving distance. Great friendly attentive staff

We booked this hotel for 3 nights. The location is beautiful but quite remote. No shops so a car is needed. A lovely bar/restaurant with helpful staff, an amazing menu. Harry at reception is so helpful . If going for a cruise or into Windermere there is a card for 20% off-available from reception. A model village in the grounds . The room we had was a bit quirky but that did not bother us. There is a swimming pool, small gym and massage therapy. Would highly recommend for a few days away.

Great welcome to the hotel from the gentleman on reception, very friendly and helpful, even understanding when we over slept our check out time. Room was very spacious and looked like we were in a new part of the hotel room 51, 51 had a great view over the garden where ducks and ducklings were swimming and playing. The garden to the rear of the property was beautifully kept, and the little bridge over the water and small village make of slate made the garden really standout. Service at the bar was quick and the bar man was super helpful. Breakfast in the morning was a buffet, so you helped yourself which I prefer. The room was well decorated, and had all the features you would expect in a hotel room. Bathroom looked new and the shower was amazing with a raindrop shower head, bed was comfortable and pillows fresh. 1 thing to mention, don't push the button on the side of the toilet. (You have been warned 😉) Great stay and I would stay there again if travelling to the Lakes. Hotel is about 10 minutes drive from Barrow but far enough out not to hear any excess noise from the number of pubs in the town. Full marks for all. 👍

Firstly checked in to find previous guests clothes in wardrobe, then the spa bath didn't work even though we were supposed to have been upgraded , then there was about 6 months dust on top of four poster bed ,the bed was broken and only fixed by a 3mm screw ( dangerous) . Was moved to a twin room for 1 night then put in superior room only to find someone's tablet under the bed runner which should of been clean linen clearly not . Put in a complaint to manager and hasn't even had the decency to respond . If u have any sense please stay somewhere else as that tablet could of killed a child or dog but the owner and manager clearly isn't bothered about safety protocols

Great breakfast, room was good, but found some dirty pillows. Rooms are not soundproof so you will hear everything from next rooms or from upstairs. You're not allowed to buy food from outside and dinners but expensive.

An okay hotel for a short stay. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was okay with veggies in the morning. Swimming pool is cold. Outdated.

The steam room and jacuzzi weren’t working

Had a great long weekend, well kept grounds, room larger than expected & spotlessly clean. Buffet breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice on offer. Plenty to choose from on the dinner menu also & food cooked to perfection. Cannot believe this is only rated 3 stars, at the very least it should be 4 star. We will return again.

Special Welcome from super friendly staff on arrival, and very accommodating to a late check out request All 3 members of staff i interacted with went out of their way to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Great accommodation in beautiful surroundings, and great facilities to enjoy during my stay. Another great visit here, look forward to returning!

Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings - far enough away from the busy Lake District hotspots to make it a peaceful stay, yet close enough to everywhere you might want to visit! Beautiful garden and pond, with friendly ducks. Clean throughout with spacious room and bathroom, and a comfortable bed. Great breakfasts with lots of choice. Only little niggle - it would be an added bonus to be able to have a cappuccino or latte choice at breakfast :)

The hotel was very well kept and our bedroom we think had been recently refurbished and was lovely and clean. The breakfast was lovely with lots of choice and the scenery out of the window over the duck pond was beautiful. The grounds were well maintained with seating areas outside and also around the duck pond. The only problem we encountered was the Jacuzzi on the second night was a bit hot to sit in but we still had the pool and steam and sauna to enjoy. We enjoyed this hotel so much we have booked to go back in July. Very highly recommended.

Staff were fantastic, so welcoming and helpful. Room and bathroom were neat and tidy and comfortable. Facilities were excellent. Fantastic venue, highly recommend!

Lovely location and setting, peaceful and welcoming. Breakfast was very good and the gym and pool facilities were excellent. Room was clean and cosy. Easy to get to Bowness, Windermere, Ambleside, Coniston and Newby Bridge
