This hotel has the potential to be a brilliant place to stay but it needs a serious refurb in its current state. Arriving, the entrance and lobby were well maintained and nicely decorated however, entering the first floor you notice the office like false ceiling. This continues through the corridors and into the rooms. Loosing roughly 18 inches of ceiling height makes the rooms feel much smaller and gives quite a cheap characterless feel to the room. Having paid for a superior sea view room with king size bed we were disappointed to find out the bed was just 2 single beds shoved together. The pictures in the room were all peeling from sun damage and the 2nd section of the room felt like a waiting area for the bathroom. Views from the room were fantastic and really are a highlight, especially seeing g the sunrise in the morning over the sea. The balcony however is disappointing as it is segmented be what I assume to be drainage and waste pipes making it really uneven The staff were friendly and helpful at the outdoor bar and reception. Breakfast was ok. A reasonable selection of food. A standard cooked breakfast selection and continental options but nothing more than average. As I said at the beginning this hotel with some investment and redesign could be something really special as the location on the beach front is incredible. However, in it's current state I'm not sure it warrants the £300 a night price tag.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. There was an issue with the water pipes and there was a terrible drilling noise which woke us up at 7am but we ignored it on Saturday morning, thinking it will pass On Saturday at 10pm, I went to the reception to complain, and all I was advised is that they would send the maintenance team on the next day. They didn't offer to move us to another room and we couldn't sleep all night Absolutely terrible experience!

Lovely hotel (which we’ve been to a few times now) Right on the lovely sandy beach m which is a big plus for us! Free parking available (but must remember to enter your registration at reception) Able to still use some Hotel facilities for the remainder of the day after 11am checkout. Friendly and polite staff throughout. Lift available Good choice of buffet breakfast & good choice of drinks at the bar. Upgraded to a larger room with living area - many thanks. Unfortunately couldn’t get the living room window to open, but staff were very amenable and supplied us with a fan & mini fridge (it was a particularly hot time) - again “thank you”. We will definitely be back soon.

Location, location, location… that is the hotel’s real selling point. Dated, in desperate need of refurbishment, with slapdash housekeeping and rooms needing a deep clean. An unremarkable breakfast and distinctly nonchalant staff.

Some areas showed their age . Staff where courteous and kind . Views are wonderful but the terrace needs tidying up. Breakfast was like a feast! 25 to 30 years ago we used to come regularly for several holidays a year. It's an old building and needs a brush up. They've tried to maximise money making on the terrace not all of which is easy on the eye . However despite criticism I'm already planning a return trip .

The whole building needs a revamp, and some more aircon , All the staff were excellent, helpful, and courteous , could not fault them. Breakfast was great, the issue with ordering scrambled egg, was odd if not known about. Our room was good, tv had a fault but we were not thete that long, Hot at night we had to ask for a fan which was excellent and needed. There are no walking showers apparently, some could be fitted for the older gen. We will stay again as soon as we can. Outside kitchen and bar were the wonderful, staff were busy. Drinks were great, all variables available. Sandwiches as snacks were plentiful and tasty.

The hotel looks and feels ‘tired’ although clean. However in the bathroom there was no bath Matt and it was somewhat slippery whilst taking a shower. This needs addressing urgently as it is a health and safety issue.

Lovely location. Friendly staff. Hotel overall was a little tired. Our room had a cracked sink and broken balcony glass but large comfy bed, shower over bath with shower curtain. Hairdryer. Clean. Breakfast was average, plenty but some times a little dried out. Very good indoor swimming pool, sauna and gym. Pool a little too hot for us personally. Outdoors was good, plenty of seating but could use a clean under cushions. Overall would stay again

The most AMAZING location, the beach was 1.5 minutes from our bedroom door. Staff were nice and helpful. Food was fabulous. The kitchen was understaffed one of the nights we ate there and we had to wait over 1 hour for food to arrive. Had we known this when we made our reservation we would have made alternative arrangements. The harbour view from our balcony was amazing. The mattress NEEDS CHANGING URGENTLY - sloping both sides and so wants to eject you from the bed. It justifies its 4-star hotel rating though somehow there is a slight fawlty towers vibe ..... but in a nice way

I will return to this hotel as it’s on the beach, the staff are friendly and my room was very clean and comfortable and I had a lovely sea view. I wish there were more healthier options for lunch and dinner, I should next time order poached eggs for breakfast, but I was a bit shy doing that. I should say that I tried to go to The Haven one lunchtime, to have lunch, as my grandfather stayed there a lot in the 60’s and despite the receptionist saying it was open, it was totally deserted, and the nearby bar staff were completely dismissed of me.

Staff were very helpful, especially Steph who assisted with a room change. The original sea view room was on the ground floor and had a view of the kids playground immediately outside - we didn’t really want to sit out on the balcony therefore, plus there were no nets in the room so you either had to be in full view of everyone outside or close the curtains and be plunged into darkness. Luckily we were able to move after the first night and the room on the second floor was an improvement. Breakfast was fine and the location is pretty unbeatable. Staff very nice. But as others have said, the hotel needs some serious TLC to even feel close to a four star.

Location was amazing. Staff friendly and polite. Food wonderful. What lets it down is, the moment you walk upstairs towards accommodation it all seems rather tired. Walking into the room felt like we had gone back 30 years. Room was very dated. Hadn’t seen a shower curtain in a hotel bathroom for decades!!

Location was fantastic, room was clean but could do with modernising as it was a bit dated. Staff were very good. Value for money probably not but once it's been shown a bit of love and attention it would be well worth it.
