Very well located for people travelling to work/going to the legislature area. Rooms are showing their age.

Nice hotel with spacious, clean & secure rooms right in the heart of downtown Edmonton. Easy walk to various restaurants & only a 10min walk to Rogers Arena for anyone taking in sporting events or concerts.

Sharp nails sticking out of the floor and door handle into the bathroom. Gum on the sheets. Hair in the bathtub when we checked in. Woken up at 7am to people talking in the hallways. The only redeeming quality of the hotel was getting comped 1 night out of the 4 we stayed there. Will never be back.

The room was quite clean and comfortable, however the fridge was set to high so our food froze the first night while the tv was unplugged and required so gymnastics to get plugged in. Also the safe did not work. They do offer to move us to another room. Good central location.

We had a wonderful stay here. It was close to Rogers Place and we were able to walk home from the hockey game.

Stay was great! Awesome room comfortable bed and couch. Only frustration was trying to find the light switches in a dark room. And realizing there wasn’t any. Just manual lamp switches. lol so just confusing at first. Also took a bit to figure out fireplace. Would be a good idea to put room operating information in a booklet, that said we did not call front desk to ask as that would have been to easy. Will stay again and you should too!

The Matrix Hotel is always a pleasant experience when staying there for business. While the cappuccino machine is a nice touch, options for tea would be appreciated.

Our stay was a quick one; we chose this hotel based on location to the Kinsmen sports complex. All in all, the room served its purpose. Could use a new mattress and fluffy pillows. Towels could be updated as well, they were on the smaller size and felt very worn out - sand paper texture. Our breakfast was not included we paid for a basic continental breakfast - coffee was good! The hotel does not include parking to the room cost. They will charge you $30 for an overnight stay! Again, nice hotel - served its purpose.

The whole thing was just “meh”. Nice enough, I guess. Parking is $30 extra per day which they didn’t mention until I checked in. But they did waive one day parking when I mentioned it. Neighborhood is typical downtown vibe, complete with random shouting, swearing, and homeless approaching. Centrally located, close to lots of stuff. Beds were comfy, elevators are slow, nothing special, and a bit overpriced. Will choose another place next time.

Great hotel and location. I wouldn’t quite say it’s 4 stars, I.e. this would put it in the same category as some fairmont hotels. However, it’s a very nice 3 stars, comfortable and clean.
