We had a lovely stay here for our brothers wedding which was made extra special by the head of housekeeping (i believe her name is Katarina) who went above and beyond for us when it came to things within her department. The receptionist when we arrived was also really welcoming and helpful and then every member of staff we encountered there on couldn’t do more for us. The service was excellent! The hotel itself was lovely for a Best Western and the rooms were immaculate. Grounds immaculate too and the wedding the hotel put on for our family was brilliant from the way they dressed it to the Dj, bar staff and food service! The staff are what make this review 5 star.

I've had the pleasure of staying here for a month in between house moves. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are excellent value for money (I've been in a few including the suite), and for tourists the location is just half an hour or so from Bath, Bristol and the Mendips. It's very peaceful and relaxed here, and the hotel has a golf course and excellent restaurant too.

Meal for six in the restaurant. Very disappointing. Pitiful amount of veg for six adults. Two tiny pots of creamed leeks ( a teaspoon each roughly) and one small dish of veg. I asked for more veg. I was told that I would have to pay for it and only a small amount appeared minus the leeks. They missed the Yorkshire puddings for two of us so we asked to have them and they turned up towards the end of the meal. Asked for an oat milk latte and told they had run out. However they found enough for one cup. Some of us are dairy intolerant so three missed out on coffees. Restaurant Supervisor not particularly friendly. Abrupt and a little rude. Staff were sullen and not particularly friendly. I felt sorry for the waiter and waitress as they looked unhappy in their work. Went to pay the bill and no apology for mistakes. No suggestion to maybe take something off the bill. Again Restaurant Supervisor unfriendly. Got irritated with my slow pace and never even had a thank you or goodbye. We have used the restaurant/ coffee several times as we live just around the corner but sadly we will not be returning. Very unhappy with the service

Our stay at the hotel was fantastic. I can't begin to thank the staff enough for everything they did above and beyond their job roles for me and my partner. My special and sincere thanks go to the two brilliant ladies on reception and the gentleman night manager. We will be back in the future for another stay and recommend everyone to this hotel. Thank you

Lovely quiet hotel. As per other reviews it shows its age in places but it’s clean and airy. Rooms are functional though dated a little, they are cosy enough. Staff are amazing though and make you feel welcome. Shout out to Vikki who has been so helpful. We have had to stay for work and arrived at odd hours but been looked after with providing plates and cutlery for takeaway dinners or offering advice and info about the area. Will be staying again.
