We have stayed at this hotel several times before. It’s a great location in Eastbourne. The bed was clean and fresh and the breakfast very tasty. However, it is very tired. Our room was very disappointing- damp on the ceiling, one light fitting in the en-suite was hanging out of the ceiling and 2 other down lighting bulbs did not work. There was no heating in the room and it was needed. Also, there was no BBC on the very small and inefficient TV.

My husband and I were on the way to Brighton and we decided to spend the night in Eastbourne. I have to say, this was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in! The staff were absolutely wonderful, and I can’t remember the name of the chap who was on the desk when we arrived, but he was so welcoming and so funny we really felt at ease. The room was massive and the shower facilities were amazing. The water pressure and hot water fell almost luxurious.. I always worry a little bit about hotel beds and how comfortable they will be. This was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. We had an excellent night sleep. The breakfast in the morning was great really tasty and the dining room staff were really nice and friendly as well. Parking was a little bit of an issue because the parking lot was full. We managed to squeeze into a space and the guy in the front desk offered to move our car if it needed to be moved so it wasn’t really an issue but just in case it’s busy, you might want to get there early to secure a space. The Location was also really good. It’s opposite the art gallery and cinema and there is a wonderful Italian restaurant down the road from the hotel there is another strong recommendation. If we ever go back to Eastbourne, we will most definitely go back to this hotel.

Clean rooms, comfortable bed and delicious breakfast. Perfect for one night's stay for the theatre with a lovely beach walk and many restaurants nearby.

Excellent location - close to The Towner, theatres, local shops and restaurants and the beachfront. Quiet at night. Room was spotlessly clean and the bed comfy. Lounge areas welcoming and well-positioned. Staff at breakfast forgetful and slow. We had an issue with a hair in my breakfast muffin. There was an apology but no offer to bring me anything else. Otherwise, the cooked breakfast was of a good standard; cooked perfectly and served hot, on a hot plate.

Upgraded to suite, a little dated/tired but for the price point, cleanliness , pleasant staff, comfy bed and nice cooked breakfast, we felt this was excellent value.

My room was amazing value for money. It was spacious, clean, full of everything that I needed and the staff made it all so easy. The car park was so convenient and the walk to both the sea front and the town was very quick and easy.

We arrived to a friendly greeting and given our key to room 17 on the first floor, the room was large and lovely and warm with a huge bed plus really clean. The hotel is very interesting with lots of different sitting rooms and a bar all filled with original Victorian features plus old cameras and typewriters were amongst the artefacts to look at. All the staff were really friendly and the chap on reception we spoke to on checking out told us all about the history of the hotel and even took time to show us some of the features. Absolute bonus of having its own carpark or free local parking is a must in Eastbourne, the hotel is close to the seafront and the town centre and next to the theatres so a perfect spot for visitors no matter what you are looking for. I would definitely recommend and would return if we come back to Eastbourne.

All the staff we met were great. Check in was easy even though we arrived two hours early it was no problem to them. The room was clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. All in all a great stay. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Not spotless room, dust on pleats in top of curtains, top of mirror, door and picture frames, lot of limescale on taps in bathroom
