We arrived at the hotel late afternoon to find the on site car parking full. We parked on the street outside, checked in, and was given a parking permit for the space we used. We were only there for a couple of nights, and didn't need to move the car until we left. The lady at the reception took us up to our room and showed us in. A little quirk of the hotel is that all the rooms have names that begin with a "G", ours was Gleeful. The room was minimally furnished and the bathroom fairly basic. The bed was comfy enough for a short stay, although, a lighter quilt would be more suitable for the summer months. Going down to the restaurant next morning, we were greeted by a smiling friendly waitress, who took care of our breakfast. The menu is the usual mix of cooked and buffet options, and served promptly by our waitress. Whilst not luxurious, it was fairly priced and we have no complaints.

Bad points first ,shower head retainer loose could not use the shower without having to hold it,bath very high to get in ,no safety grab handles,restricted access.Bed mattress looked new but was most uncomfortable as it had formed a central hump and recess on either side causing persons to roll out of hence sleep was deprived,not good. Good points : Food was great well cooked , excellent choices on cereal ,fruit preserves, yoghurts ,juices etc,the catering ladies were welcoming,polite, excellent,rooms were spotless,car parking good,all staff attentive and helpful. Overall a fair hotel that has gone a long way into making your stay memorable,hope our comments are of help to the hotel proprietors and future visitors alike. We would advise anyone physically disabled to check with the hotel,to ensure their requirements are able to be met.

Hotel a bit tired, had issues with the shower leaking water and couldn’t get hold of any staff at the time. Maintenance going on in the room next door so a bit noisy. Breakfast and parking good.

The property is in need of repair and I was in the top floor room so the internet wasn’t great the back of the remote was missing so had to hold the batteries in when using it and there were rips in the wallpaper

Location is fantastic. Staff always available and very friendly.

To access the TV you had to download an app to use as a remote control

Parking was ok but the parking at the property was full so we parked on the street nearby and that was fine. Breakfast was lovely as well as well as the bed was comfy

Been to this hotel twice now it’s nice. The rooms are nice. The staff are very kind and friendly. The breakfast is really good.

I was a bit disappointed with the breakfast, it took about 15 mins to get a cup of tea and cold coffee after we sat down and as much time to get breakfast, it wasn’t really busy either

Me and my wife really enjoyed our last minute stay here the gentleman that checked us in was really friendly showed us to our room made sure we had everything we needed , the spa bath for two was and added bonus , the only thing that let it down was the room looked a little tired cracks in the walls paint coming off but this did not effect the stay and will definitely be back

Breakfast was good and plentiful. The bed was lumpy and other guests were sometimes loud late at night when we were trying to sleep. We were thankful for onsite parking.

The room we had was OK, a bit dusty in places and not quite as fancy as I expected. Breakfast was lively, though beans were missed

Couldn’t ask for cleaner rooms, staff was extremely helpful, breakfast excellent. Good value!

Staff were friendly, nice hotel, adapted from a house, so you'll have a couple of stairs to climb. Southsea land marks are very walkable. Parking is a bit tight. Still worth using as a base of operations.
