Not that clean and have mice

This old; run down hotel is undergoing partial renovation - noise starts at 7 am. Bed comfortable, sheets and towels clean. No tv. Everything is old - mismatched, scratched furniture. No elevator. I slept and showered there but that was all.

Parking is almost non existing. You can park in the street but not during the day from 8-4. The rooms are clean but need work. There are renovations on going, making things unpleasant as you navigate the construction. The staff are courteous and pleasant but there are no amenities at all.

The room had a strong perfume smell causing my allergies to flare. The building and surrounding area was in need of cleanup and maintenance. We were informed at the time of checkin that parking was $20/night which was not advertised on the website. The bedding was stained. The lodging was more like a hostel than a hotel.

The property was cleaned and accessible to a lot of amenities

The building is old and has a charm about it, however it could use a number of upgrades for a better guest experience - replace carpets, provide coffee machines/supplies in room, cleaning under beds, pest controls/mouse traps. It feels like a youth hostel more than a hotel. The competitive price per night is not aligned with quality of facility. Staff were friendly, helpful, and professional.

There was a mouse in my room. When I told the man at the front desk, he indicated that he would provide a refund but when he realized it was through Expedia, he said he did not know how to do that. I was advised I would be contacted. I was never contacted and no refund was issued. Expedia advised me that The Commons refused a refund and that I had been offered an alternative. I had not been offered an alternative, in fact, as I mentioned, I had been offered a refund.

The bathroom door in our room didn't close. It wasn't like the pictures at all, very sketchy

Nice location, there’s a pub next door and a few cafes along the street. Walking distance to citadel. Room was clean but we did found a mouse on our last night. There’s no hair dyer in the washroom. They also don’t recommend drinking the tap water but no drinking water is provided, you have to buy bottled water from them. Fire station is along the street so if you’re sensitive to the noise just keep that in mind

The place was run down the bathroom sink was clogged and slow draining, the bathtub is so high and unsafe that you slip trying to get in and the tv worked but had no working channels, I will never come back here again and it was not worth $186.
