After a very disappointing experience at another hotel, we returned to Hotel Nova Domus Aurelia for the remainder of our trip—and it was the best decision we could have made. From the moment we came back, the difference was clear. The staff were consistently professional, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel genuinely cared for as guests. The hotel itself was clean, well maintained, and comfortable, with amenities that were in excellent condition. Most importantly, we were able to rest properly and enjoy the remainder of our visit without stress or disruption. It provided exactly what a good hotel should: reliability, comfort, and peace of mind. We are very grateful for the quality of service and would not hesitate to stay here again on future visits.

The staff is very friendly and helpful to our needs, and actively informing us of any changes. The rooms are nice.

I didn't like it for many reasons. 1- The air conditioning is a wall unit that does not cool down the room for the two separate areas of sleeping. The room never dropped below 76 degrees, and my family was sweating, making it very uncomfortable to sleep. 2- The room smelled moldy and unpleasant. 3- The walls and curtains were dirty. 4- The elevators were so small that they could barely fit 2 people. 5- The neighborhood is very unsafe, and a lot of graffiti on the walls.

Great breakfast. Convenient location to The Vatican but not too easy to walk to other tourist attractions.

Beware that there are long sets of stairs from the street level to the entrance of the hotel. So, you have to "lug" your luggage up the stairs. Air conditioning in our room did not work (asked front desk to be fixed - It wasn't. ) Nighttime interior room temperature was almost 80 degrees - uncomfortable. With all this said, overall, a nice, but minimalistic hotel.

The hotel is close to the Vatican, the room we had was very clean and the beds/pillows were comfortable. The breakfast is simple but good.

10 minute walk to metro station. Bus stop close by. Traffic noise minimal. A few sirens at night.

This was our first stop in rome, and we wanted to be close to the Vatican City, which this hotel is within walking distance. Very nice area, room, staff, breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

Really great stay! Would definitely recommend especially if you plan to do a lot at the Vatican since it is walking distance (around 20 mins) from St. Peter’s and the Vatican museums. Staff was really accommodating, let us check in early and stored our bags on the last day, and the rooms were very clean.

Pretty basic hotel, and I would say is more like a 2.5 star not 3. It was a good location, walking distance to the Vatican. The staff was very kind and helpful- our first room was pretty dirty and the floor was broken but they allowed us to change to a different room that was a little better. The hotel smells old and musty, even with the new furniture. The breakfast was good- it was the same every morning with a pretty good selection. I would not stay here again and would personally pay a few more dollars for a better hotel.
