Lovely old hotel. Very good breakfast and pool.

The pool terrace and gardens are wonderful the staff were incredibly welcoming. The food at the restaurant was outstanding. We will be back and will recommend the hotel to others. GRAZIE

Convenient location, clean property, air condition worked.

Let's start with the positives. The hotel has an unbeatable location/view, the grounds and gardens are beautiful, the swimming pool area is very relaxing, and the breakfast is delicious, with great-quality ingredients. Now the negatives: the actual hotel is falling apart, very old and even the refurbished parts are done in the cheapest way possible, making it look and feel off. I would have given this property three stars as I think it's a passable accommodation in the expensive Taormina, but I have to stick with two since on our first night the lamp USB in the room started smoking and was about to catch fire. Luckily, we were not fully asleep yet and able to catch it. Once we flagged it and followed up, the actual light switch/usb charger was replaced, but the melted lamp USB was plugged back in, making us question how seriously the issue was taken. The staff was apologetic and confirmed all the proper checks were made, but the fact that the melted USB was plugged back in didn't feel us with confidence. We've decided to drop it, not plug the lamps or any of our powerful chargers/hair tools and be happy it was our last night. This property has great potential, but it's far away from luxurious and definitely not a four star property.

Hotel Gardens and pool very good views for hotel were fantastic. Hotel it self is very tied and in need of reservation.

Excelsior Palace gets 5⭐️! Everything was perfect! Great amenities and location, wonderful staff and great food. One night the neighbors above me were very disruptive at night. The staff was very efficient at shutting it down and I got a good night sleep! I will go back.

It was great in general. Great location, good breakfast and good enough hotel in general for what you’re paying for.

We had a comfortable stay at Excelsior Palace Hotel. The pool was fantastic and a real highlight of the property. The location was also very convenient, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. Overall, a pleasant experience and a good choice for a relaxing stay.

We had a great stay! Decor might feel outdated but room was clean with renovated washroom. Outdoor pool was amazing with breathtaking view of Etna mountain and the sea. Breakfast buffet was great too.

Perfect location at entrance to Main Street of Taormina without hills! Beautiful pool area with magnificent view of the ocean and Mountains Etna. 10 minutes from train station by taxi straight uphill you can’t walk. Traffic to and from station can be backed up so leave extra time to get there. Breakfast is very good! 7:30 to 10:30 am Most drinks are 15 Euros We will be back!!

The hotel is run down and it shows. But it's location and views of the sea are excellent. The staff were responsive but not particularly friendly. Nobody asked us how our stay was. Breakfast is ok. The breakfast room faces the sea. But all the windows were closed and all the curtains drawn making the room extremely hot and uncomfortable.

This is a beautiful hotel with breathtaking views and a great location. Our room was large (compared to some European hotels). The bathroom was new. The pool area is gorgeous, again spectacular views. The bar area is nice and there was a piano player in the evening. Valet parking was terrific. Breakfast was great. Only reason for 4 versus 5 is that the hotel is a bit tired. However, when compared to €2600 of San Domingo Palace, this is a gem.

What used to be a grand hotel in Taormina is now a rather dated and worn out hotel showing its age. It needs a makeover! That said, there are great views of Mt Etna and the sea and the hotel is centrally located near the Greek theater and the public park, many shops and great walking and streets to explore nearby. Breakfast was rather lackluster but good pasties. Nothing spectacular at the hotel. Rather tired and old.
