Our room was nice and clean, all the staff were pleasant and friendly during our stay.

The wheatlands is old fashioned in a good way. Courteous and efficient staff, excellent breakfast and nice rooms which could do with updating but are fine and functional.

The hotel is located a 15 minute walk into the city but with some restaurants and pubs close bye. It is very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was excellent and so were the staff. Our room was small but adequate and very clean. We would stay there again.

Dirty tiles in the bathroom, dirty plug hole in the sink, big cobwebs in the bathroom. Evening meal was very good, potatoes weren’t very tasty and there was only one vegetable which was very undercooked broccoli

The whole hotel has excellent facilities, great food, lovely clean rooms with freshly laundered bed linen and towels Lovely en-suite bedroom nice and warm on arrival Bar and restaurant fabulous, with great service at breakfast and evening dinner, bar prices and food are very reasonable, and very friendly staff Best place we have stayed at and will be going back, would highly recommend this hotel within a ten minute walk into York town centre

Excellent location. We managed to get a free parking space just down the road. Just a short walk into the city. We had a big room at the front overlooking the street and garden with a huge bay window. Very clean. Breakfast was wonderful. They cater for everyone including vegans, which was a bonus and the table service was very quick. Food was hot and delicious. Staff were all very polite. The only negative was the extremely firm mattress, which I struggled with., but it wouldn't stop us staying again.

The staff were a credit to the Wheatlands. Everyone worked very hard and were always courteous. Well Done.

Morning and afternoon were marvellous. Evenings were understaffed. No snacks (sandwiches) available despite briefing pack claiming up to 8pm. Barmaid/receptionist marching past queue of 5 customers waiting at bar without acknowledging or explaining.

Couldn’t fault anything. Good friendly service and good breakfast. Comfortable clean room and free parking. Great price too in a city where hotel prices are ridiculously high.
