Travelled 4.5 hours to this accommodation so arrived late and exhausted. Received no communication at all in regards to the booking so assumed there must be 24 hour reception. Arrived to a locked building with no reception. A sign had a phone number that I called, which led me to a voice mail that gave me a mobile number to call after hours. The phone rang out multiple times. A sign on the door said that the reception for this building was in Carlton so we put my over whelmed and exhausted child back in the car and drove to this location only for it to be closed and have a sign up to call the same mobile number that had not been answering. Checked my emails again to see if I had received anything and there was nothing at all there. Eventually someone answered the mobile number and was very rude and short asking me why I didn’t read the check in instructions (I had not received any). She the told me all I needed to do was down load an app and go back to the building we just came from and the app could let us in. Frustrated, cold and exhausted we finally made it to our room which was listed as “sleeps 3” and booked for 3 people and there was Queen bed. There was one small uncomfortable couch but no extra pillows or blankets, so the three of us all squished into one bed. We were booked for 3 nights however only stayed the one. I wish I read reviews before booking!

Check in and out very clunky. No reception on site and no email received to explain how to get in. Had to ring them and it was very hard to understand the person. Once in the room first impression was good. Very spacious. Once there for a while we started noticing what is wrong. Quilt was yellow with what looks like blood stains, mold in the shower, air con vent was dirty, walls were dirty, stove top didn't work, no fry pan but that didn't matter as we couldn't use the stove top, we had to buy a toaster so we could at least make toast for breakfast. Tram stop is very close but the traffic noise is really loud. Definitely won't stay there again.

Unable to contact staff for hours , was stuck waiting outside and couldn't contact the number to let us in. When we EVENTUALLY got onto them they screwed up our room and tried to get us to go to an upstairs room , we booked a downstairs room because it was more wheelchair accessible and more spacious , so then after explaining it's not what we booked and we cant access it , they moved us into a different room which really wasn't suitable and we didn't book this room layout. The room they moved us to didn't have much space and it was open plan with two steep steps into the bathroom without a railing, plum apartments didn't offer any compensation for their "mistake?" , the wheelchair user wasn't able to stay the night as planned because there was enough room and there wasn't a couch as listed .

No on site reception. After phoning I was let in the building remotely and was never given the electronic key. WiFi does not reach to room 12. I called to see if the WiFi could be fixed but never heard back after an hour. Called again and voice message directed me to the different after hours number. Nobody answered at that number. The room itself was tired and did not have a working light in the bathroom, only a heat lamp overhead. I have left without staying a night to go to a different hotel. I cannot recommend this hotel if you are visiting the University of Melbourne on business.
