Very nice hotel no complaints

Superb location beside the canal. Conservatory restaurant overlooking beautiful hillside and the canal and serving full selection of food at moderate price. Lovely evening meal. Breakfast was excellent. Relaxing lounge with entertainment very much enjoyed. Room was very small and in need of an upgrade but we understand this is ongoing. A box of tissues would have been a useful extra. Bed very comfortable and room quiet. Staff all very hardworking and skilled at their job. A very enjoyable night’s stay.

On arrival we found that the walk in shower shown on the Web site it shows this and doesnt inform you that its not standard. As a disabled traveller I couldnt climb over the side of the bath. We had to ask for something which I could use. Eventually we got a room which had a large walk in shower and a seat for a disabled person. Not ideal but better than a bath/shower. We.foumd rhe room decor very dated and spotted silver fish on the floor. We heard many people complaining about.meals being wrong, the wrong sauces, wrong drinks. Some of the staff were so slow and looked really unhappy. Only one lift working. I stood for 9 mins today, in agony by the end, waiting for a lift. The food was very expensive and again we heard people moaning. 2 pints of German lager £15.50 ridiculous! Positives. Manageress was mega helpful. Breakfast food and restaurant manager were excellent. Great sausages bacon, cereal, coffee etc and well organised. Ideally situated for Skipton. Great for canal walks. Fantastic Indian restaurant now next door. Place needs an investment for room improvements. Overall decor needs updating. Just tired and not cheap!

Lovely hotel great breakfast and nice pool hotel clean and staff very friendly and helpful

We stayed for 3 nights to explore Skipton and the Dales. The hotel is situated a distance from Skipton centre. It is a pleasant half hour walk along the canal towpath into town or a 5 min drive. The hotel is large, with carpark and with various room styles. It fronts onto a busy road so best to ask for a back facing room with a window view. Our room was on the 5th floor up in the eaves, with a velux window, no view, and was very tired and outdated especially the 90s style, grey bathroom. Website photos can be deceiving. The conservatory restaurant was very nice, overlooking the canal and passing barges,, but quality of evening food lacking, though breakfast was better with plenty of choice. There is a good sized bar area, though staff in short supply. Didn't try the gym or pool. Won't be going back.

Our 1 night stay was fine ...a very warm night and the hotel had a sepperate electric fan in the room... the a/c was not working at all so this fan was a life saver ! The breakfast was lovely and we used the pool which was also enjoyable but small things like plastic bags to take your wet swim costumes is a simple addition .. overall a nice stay in a hotel that needs an upgrade 😌

As we arrived the reception staff were very helpful. Family room was spacious and clean. Nice location by the canal and a short walk in to the town of Skipton. Evening entertainment was very good and the bar was very nice. If we're ever up there again we'd definitely stay again.

Serviceable accomodation with good location

Unfortunately this stay was not enjoyable at all. The place overall is very run down, the bed is an old springy bed with huge "roll together" and so soft you end up touching the base. The air conditioning didn't work, the windows hardly open at all due to security reasons and the room was stifling hot and very stuffy which resulted in next to no sleep. She would have been stunning in her day, but it's long, long gone. Not worth the money.

Excellent hotel, food well recommended but steer clear of the 5th floor room 508, unless over 6ft tall cannot open or close the ceiling windows, very high steps to the room and very noisy with wind noise round the end of the building. Still was a lovely stay and a different room would have been delightful. Will visit again.

An excellent find - well located for Leeds Liverpool canal- staff extremely helpful. Rooms spacious and ok. could do with a little tlc to bring it up to date with modern day standards

When we arrived we were checked in by a very pleasant lady who made everything clear and simple We entered our room and the room was very spacious and clean after unpacking we headed for the bar which was very nice too and the bar staff were very friendly and polite all in all we had a great overnight stay

Spacious and excellent location.

We stayed two nights on a road trip through the north of England. The food and bar were fine and the serving staff were very good. Unfortunately the whole place is in need of refurbishment and not up to a standard that one would expect. Our room was particularly hard to get to. Up one level in a lift and then down a labyrinth of passage ways and then up a flight of stairs. Very difficult with heavy luggage..

The room was way too hot, no air con, just a fan that circulated hot air, no bottle water. Check in and out very very slow. Only window in room opened out onto busy road, no sleep 1st night due to heat and road noise.Asked to be moved into another room at the back, no fan at all. Only way to get air into room was via patio door that opened onto car park, so was unable to leave open over night. Again room way too hot to be comfortable. Ordered food in restaurant at 6:05pm, it was a simple salad. Nothing arrived after an hour so cancelled order and left, staff didn’t seem bothered. Speaking to other guests, my thoughts were echoed. This hotel is stuck in the 80s and needs updating now! Will never return here again. Worst hotel I’ve ever had the misfortune to stay in.

When we arrived at the reception desk the person at the desk was very polite but then it went down hill some of the staff are unapproachable this is not the hotel we came to three years ago the breakfast was alright the room was basic there was no fridge.
