Comfortable bed and a recently renovated bathroom. Some of the common areas need renovation. Limited parking at £10 per day. Easy/sort walk to downtown and the Oban Distillery. Price paid was fair for a property like this.

Worst hotel experience i have ever had. Asked for a family room, was given a cubicle and a storage. No windows, no fan. Smelled of cat urine, horrible mattress, pillows flat and uncomfortable. Breakfast brand with staff frowning at you. Overall worst hotel ever!

Room was in a poor state. Bed was clean. Windows would not open correctly. We used a deodorant canister to open the bathroom window. The bedroom window had scaffolding in place and there was no apparent work going on. The bedroom curtains did not close, therefore light came through. A complete renovation is needed on what would have been a beautiful building about 60 years ago as it has beautiful high ceilings with lovely cornices. Stairwell needs attention and the lift was grubby. A pity as this hotel has real potential.

Great location overlooking Oban bay. Room was a bit tired, but comfortable and clean. Quick check-in and friendly staff. If you are travelling by car, worth looking at the car park just 100 metres to right of hotel.

This is an old hotel. It has its faults and is tired. But to us this added to its ambience and all round charm. It is undergoing repairs so you have to roll with it. Breakfast was fine.

The rooms were small, but adequate. The staff was fantastic! The room was quite hot (no AC), but the front desk staff offered a fan immediately to be brought to our room….what a difference that made. The mattress was also very comfortable. We would stay here again.

Grand old hotel in need of major renovation, aged and in poor condition. Bar staff was not interested in serving and quite rude in stating that only those residents who had reserved tables would be accompanied for an evening meal. Rom had sloping floor in bathroom and toilet fixed at an angle to the wall, large room with regular bed and back furniture. We had booked a “sea view” room but the state of the windows with dirt, paint & putty stain did obscure the view. There is a hotel car park but be aware you have to pay an additional £10 to park there. They charge £20 per dog per night but to be honest I would not want my dog to stay in this property as it is to unclean for them, even our room smelt of dog & urine on arrival so the additional cost is not used to cover additional cleaning. For the cost of this hotel, Thayer are far better options and I would say it was only worth half the price and had the poorest breakfast in terms of wuality of ingredients

Should never be a 3 star hotel shock in our room was on a slope everything bed dressing table bathroom the whole place is not fit for purpose

Property in need of updating , staff poor on first day. I asked for gluten free bread to be told they don’t have it. Second day I asked again and was given some ! Staff need training

The hotel is in a great location and has spectacular views. However, it’s run down and in need of maintenance/renovation.

Breafast was first class, room was clean and quite. Staff very polite.

The Hotel has a brilliant breakfast. Our room no.130 was right above the kitchen extractors (perhaps payback as I moaned they didn't respond to messages).It was like sleeping next to a jet engine or rather not sleeping. It was expensive and as we chose it for a location but by time we left we were exhausted due to lack of sleep due to the noise and extractor vibration. Our view was a slate roof, just a slate roof towering above the window so pointless even having a window. For just over £150 for one night with breakfast it was extortionate, but it was a good breakfast and staff were lovely.

Very dated hotel , single beds very narrow for an adult , needs major updating . Wouldnt consider staying again unless refurbished

Stayed for a single night, in order to get an early ferry the next morning. Discovered on checkin that the car park had a £10 per night fee which wasn't specified on Hotels.com at the time of booking (it has now since been added). There is a car park nearly where you can park for free between 6pm and 9am. The hotel generally, and the room in particular was very dated, the decor feeling very 1970s/1980s . Nevertheless the room was clean, everything worked and the bed was OK, but sleep quality wasnt good. There was a large group in the hotel at the time and they were quite loud at night and really early in the morning - the walls were very thin. Can't comment on the food as we didn't eat there. Would I stay again?? Probably not.

Staff were very nice and helpful. Great location and had a room with a view. Shower did not drain at all. Breakfast buffet was good to get the morning started. Overall an average hotel that had parts being renovated. Definitely had the old feeling vibe and very dated.

This hotel requires total refurbishment. No matter how hard staff try to maintain a standard it is impossible when the hotel building has deteriorated so badly. SPEND SOME MONEY ON THIS PROPERTY.

We only stayed one night. The location is great, right on the water. Very beautiful views. The hotel is old and it shows. The room is very basic, no amenities to mention. The floors seemed unstable and uneven. Not worth the money. Parking comes at a price of GBP 10 per night.

Very old hotel and it shows. The room was actually nice enough but the floor creaked with every step. The place was probably something in its day, but now it just looks old. And for the price I can get a Hilton hotel. Location is good and the view was great. Could not check in until 3, no exceptions. Also, it was cool when we were there and the steam heat did not seem to be adjustable. The windows allowed cold air to infiltrate because they are old. Not impressed.
