Room basic but very clean, beds really comfy, you get free parking and it's approx 10 min walk along the high street to the beach. Water in bathroom is on some type of water flow restrictor so don't expect a power shower however, the water was hot and bathroom very clean. Person who checked us in wasn't the most welcoming however, the person on reception the next morning was helpful. No Air Con in our room (205) however, there was a fan in the room and you can open the windows. Didn't use the bar or have any food so can't comment on those parts.

A new restaurant had been added since our last visit but the hotel overall has not improved. Still very tired and our room is even smaller than the last one. It’s ok for one night.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What a fantastic stay at The Orwell Hotel in Felixstowe! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel genuinely welcome, and the level of customer service was outstanding throughout. A special mention has to go to Rob and Alfie, who were absolutely exceptional. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, always with a smile, a friendly attitude, and a genuine willingness to help. They are a real credit to the hotel and made our stay even more memorable. The hotel itself is full of character, with comfortable, well-maintained rooms and a warm, relaxing atmosphere. Everything was spotless, and it was clear that the team takes great pride in looking after their guests. If you're looking for a hotel in Felixstowe that combines great hospitality with excellent service, I can't recommend The Orwell Hotel highly enough. Thanks again to Rob, Alfie, and the whole team—we'll definitely be back!

Room was very dated and neglected, water pressure in the bathroom was very low and adjusting right water temperature was impossible. Room service was not available- even though I’ve placed towels in the bathtub, they haven’t replaced them. I don’t recommend staying in this hotel

The Orwell is centrally located to all amenities ,minutes into town & pier which offers restaurants etc Lovely hotel maintains its charm and charisma

Whilst the public areas, imply previous grandeur. Room was very dated, it appeared however clean. Check in was functional and lacked welcome or warmth. Would not return.

Dated hotel that needs a good up date really.

My partner and I stayed for 2 nights. The impressive, grand entrance lead to the reception, where a member of staff greeted us. We entered our car reg to obtain free parking during our stay. We used the lift to our room on the 1st floor. We were delighted with our double room. It was spacious, spotlessly clean and well designed. Teas, coffees were plentiful. We were grateful for the large fan due to the weathers extreme heat conditions. The view from the window wasn’t scenic as it was an inner roof top view but this didn’t bother us. The bathroom was gorgeous and again spotlessly clean with mini toiletries supplied. Both my partner and myself had a very good nights sleep, no outside noise and very comfy bed. We didn’t eat at the hotel but it seemed very popular. Overall we enjoyed our stay, hopefully returning soon and would thoroughly recommend.

The room was spotless but the mattress had passed its end of life by quite some time!! Great stay tho & breakfast was tasty

Nice clean, comfortable room. Large and airy. Very warm day and only a very small fan in the room. No fridge in the room, so nice touch of bottled water was a waste as water was warm. Be nice to have somewhere to do make up. Shower was a bit weal. Pillows a bit solid. Hotel could do with a bit of modernisation, but was good for the price.

Situated near the station and at the top of the main drag, this hotel is in dire need of some tlc. They do appear to have a programme of renovations in hand, but our corner room had several cracked window panes and dated furnishings. The sink does not have a mixer tap, and the hot water is scalding, while there is almost no water pressure for the shower. Staff were very helpful, especially in making arrangements for me to store my mobility scooter. The buffet breakfast was well stocked (the sausages particularly tasty), and they provided non-dairy milk substitutes on request. You can ask for one barista-style coffee with breakfast, but otherwise it is instant coffee or pay extra. There is plentiful parking (though, beware; our satnav sent us to the tradesmen’s entrance)

Good location for where I was working. My room was large with a comfortable bed. Tea and coffee facilities were good and tv channels ok. Only really downside was very poor water pressure in the shower. I would stay there again.

Very helpful staff nothing to much problem

We were very pleased with our Felixstowe stay at the Orwell. The room was comfortable and clean. The evening meal had an indian influence and I tried some interesting and enjoyable dishes. An adequate breakfast paved the way for the day, after our solid sleep. So if the need calls for a return to the town then we will stay here.

First of all, no air-conditioning in the rooms and we’re very warm trying to sleep. Also, there were several events going on during my stay. When I returned, there were no parking slots available.

Convenient location. Stunning bathroom (with shower only) and plenty of toiletries. The TV signal kept getting interrupted. No aircon, only a fan. Noise travelled through from function being held below our room. Old furniture. A fridge in the room would have been nice. Free parking if signed in at Reception. Overall not a bad hotel.

Parking convenient let us log in and park a bit before checking in. Food at Elephant and Barrel amazing.
