The staff are amazing.. The rooms are lovely x just all round lovely break x

Good sized room but very tired , unfortunately it was next to the pubs ladies toilets and over looking the bins . Both of which created noise with recycling , flushing and hand dryers . No fan in room the tea tray was missing spoons and the sugar container was empty and not clean . Overall the room was over priced at £102.60 which did not include breakfast.

Fabulous stay. Great location and friendly staff. Rooms was good (pet friendly). Suited our needs. Will definitely stay again.

Room was basic windows where filthy on inside ,music very very loud,no breakfast rubbish

Middleham is a beautiful place to stay and to enjoy walking and a bit of wild swimming. The place oozes character. Richard III boasts age and character, so don’t stay here if you want modern. No breakfast included which we hadn’t checked, but there is a lovely tearoom but 2minutes walk away, racing stables close by so plenty of thoroughbreds trotting through the centre. I found the place delightful.

The only good thing about Richard 111 hotel were the staff, But the room we had was not very clean, and urgently in need of some maintenance work, and judging from what we saw the rest of the upstairs could as well, In the end we didn’t stay the night ,we took are bags back to the car and drove home! .

We had a racing break their it was vey good and clean the only negative was the evening meal finished at 7 we were 2 late. And no breakfast . We could only have 1 coffee each as their was no coffee sachets and milk cartains. When the bar closed

Ideal hotel/ pub location in a beautiful location

Although breakfast was mentioned on their site, there was no breakfast. I asked the staff why, when it was on their site, they stated that the new owners did not include breakfast, the staff were a bit embarrassed although they were very good. I did say that it would be better if the hotel could recommend places to eat

We were hesitant to book over a weekend but were assured by the 11pm closing time that it wouldn't be too much of an issue; that wasn't the case. When we checked into the 'cosy country pub' we soon learned that the closing times listed online were not correct. We were told we were to pay when we check out, and were shown up to our room. At first the room seemed fine, if a little warm. First problem, the window didn't open. There was an inner double glazed unit which did open, but an outer sash window which didn't. The space between the two windows was THICK with mould, it clearly hadn't been cleaned in months. We soon discovered that the floor was filthy and the toilet seat was both loose, and clearly didn't fit (potentially dangerous). Despite this, we tried to make the most of it. To be fair the food and drinks we had were decent, can't fault that. Our room must have been directly above one of the speakers, I see other reviews describing a quiet stay but that is NOT our experience. Music was thumping until 12 on the Friday night, and 1:30 on the Saturday night. Not ideal in an already hot and stuffy room. Then came checking out. No staff anywhere, we called the pub, no use. We called the number provided by Expedia. No answer. We tried the emergency contact number provided in the room, who informed us she hasn't worked there for months. After 2 hours we got hold of the manager, who informed us payment is taken automatically when we check out. Honestly, can't recommend.

Excellent couple of days. Enjoyed evening meal in the bar both nights. Bed was comfortable. We ran out of milk and forgot to ask, but otherwise happy.

Super friendly, helpful staff. Had dinner here twice and the food and service were excellent. Parking right outside the hotel. Great value for money. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

No availability to purchase a breakfast, shower soap empty, main bathroom light not working bulb blown, nobody around until 10.00am to check out

We had the most unreal stay and are already planning on going back again. Atmosphere was amazing and the staff were superb.
