This hostel is situated in the heart of the city. It is only a short walk to the nearest metro station and also to some of the sights the city has to offer. The staff were friendly and helpful during my stay.

Pros: Privacy curtains, comfortable beds, hot water, large lockers under beds, friendly staff Cons: No atmosphere/vibe, the rubbish bin in the kitchen was overflowing in the morning, toilet paper was often empty or wet

Very polite and friendly staff, inside is clean and nice, beds are comfortable, the water pressure is good. Outside there is a very nice walking area. There were very small problems with the hood and air conditioning, but they were quickly solved. I am grateful for the comfort and helpfulness!

We steadied in the private room, which was of hotel standard. There was some noise, but that was to be expected, as a hostel. The facilities were good, although we didn't use them. The room was big, the bed comfortable, and the balcony gave us so excellent view of the flame towers. A very enjoyable stay, well worth the money.

The Sahil Hostel is located in a great neighborhood and is within walking distance of just about all Baku has to offer. The hostel itself (located on the second floor of the building) is inviting and secure. (There is also an elevator near the staircase that I missed upon arriving at night.) I found the mattresses a bit hard, but other than that the bunks were well thought out in order to meet a traveler's needs. The room was also nice and spacious. If you're in the female dorm near the common room, bring earplugs as it can get a bit loud. If I'm ever in Baku again, I'd definitely stay at the Sahil Hostel again! I even ran into an old friend from college who was also staying here. Great minds think alike!

We stayed in the family room which had plenty of room, was clean and basic. We piled our things on our beds and the floor as there are no tables or shelves. We had two sets of towels for the three of us. Shower was adequate, though slow to drain and fan too noisy to use. AC worked well. Curtains for bunks need repairs to the velcro. The biggest thing to know is that this property can not process a credit card from the U.S.

It had a good location by most things downtown and WiFi and staff were great but there was really no social vibe. Thankfully I had people to meet up with but everyone kept to themselves. Beds were nice

Hard to find all publications say number 27 yet it is just next door to 59. Comment yes they have renumbered the street but not updated their data. Through the door dismal. Skungy dirty staircase for 3 levels not quite up to 3rd world standard. Once you make it to reception, if you haven't left already the room in neat and tidy

I had the privilege of staying at Sahil Hostel for two nights. It goes without saying that I HIGHLY recommend this place for the following reasons: Location: The hostel is located two blocks away from Baku Boulevard (the Caspian Sea promenade). It is also a minute’s walk from the Sahil metro station, a 15-minute walk from Icheri Sheher, and a 15-minute walk from Nizami street – thus making walkable to almost every key attraction in the city (with the exception of Heydar Aliyev Center). The Staff: The staff really does go out of the way to help – right from letting me take a shower at the hostel before check-in, to helping me book a tour to Gobustan, to providing me with bus routes to catch a Caspian sea sunrise from Dagustu Park, to answering my endless barrage of questions (thanks Nika – I hope I spelled your name correctly - you are certifiably awesome!). Activities: The hostel seems to organize activities over the weekend. This is something they should promote even more on their facebook page etc. so that guests that can time their visits around these activities. Had I known of these earlier, I would have definitely arrived in Baku earlier and stayed at the hostel earlier than my scheduled dates. Long story short. I would stay NOWHERE else besides Sahil Hostel in Baku given a choice.

The dorm beds are fantastically comfortable with curtains offering privacy. I loved the kitchen, a welcoming place to make meals and relax. If you want to meet people, it's a very social hostel, but if you need space to be alone and gather your thoughts you can do that too. Considering how many guests stay here, they do good maintenance, but some wear and tear is starting to show. Still, it's outstanding value for the price.

Very helpful staff. Great location, close to main sites, shopping, dining. The private room is small but well set up. If needed, there is a kitchen area to eat and prepare food. We did laundry at the hostel which was a great deal but it did take a while! The only real complain was our shower due it water building up at our feet. Regardless, I'd definitely recommend Sahil Hostel & Hotel for a great budget option in Baku.

Amazing service! Perfect location, close to the center, on a gorgeous street. The staff at the reception were so patient with me— I was shocked! The room was spotless clean and beautifully designed. They have gadgets and services and advice for all kinds of things. The way from the entrance to the actual hostel can be confusing and not as nice as the hostel itself, but once you enter the hostel— you feel great. I loved Azerbaijan because of this hostel.

This hostel is a very nice place for the people who like hostels. The location is excellent for night life, "old town'' attractions, bus routes and the waterfront. Inside the hostel the staff is helpful and pleasant, there is a tremendous "traveler friendly" atmosphere in the common area. The cleaning staff is constantly cleaning, scrubbing or just making the place nice. I stayed a total of 6 nights, I felt comfortable and welcomed each day. There are many WC and shower rooms near the "dorm room'' set up. There is a nice balcony outside the common room to see the skyline and nightlife flow. Bring you own food and beverages to use in the very clean kitchen. The only drawback is the Sahil subway station just a short walk away is being renovated for the near future, so the subway is a longer, but not awful walk. Walking and touring is exceedingly safe in Baku. I have ZERO negative things to say about the hostel and city.

Clean and great facilities, comfortable bed, bathroom awesome. I had private room. Easy to reach by public transport. Take the airport express bus (easy to find outside the airport) to the train station downtown, then take the 125 bus to a stop close to the hostel. Easy to use and the people are very helpful to tourists. Close to most major sites. They also sponsor tours to sites around Ajerbaijan. I would stay here again if I visited Baku.
