The biggest issues with this hotel were the heat, the unhelpful staff, and how run-down everything felt.
There is no AC, and the rooms were actually significantly hotter than it was outside, even with the windows open and the provided fan running. The fan also shuts off on its own after a while, and because you have to leave the windows open for any airflow, you can’t use the blackout curtains, so you’re awake as soon as the sun comes up.
To make matters worse, our windows were directly next to a pigeon nest. The pigeons repeatedly tried to fly into the room, and starting around 4 a.m. they were flapping and making so much noise that sleeping was impossible. Closing the curtains to keep them out also blocked the airflow, making the room unbearably hot again.
When we brought these issues to the staff, they showed little interest in helping or finding a solution. Reception also has very limited hours, making it difficult to get assistance when you actually need it. We were booked for two nights but left after one because we couldn’t face another sleepless night.
The rest of the hotel didn’t improve the experience. The beds were hard, the pillow was flat, the sheets were scratchy, and the shower constantly swung between freezing cold and scalding hot. I also wasn’t comfortable with the key system, which requires guests to leave their room key on a public board whenever they leave the hotel.
Overall, we cut our stay short because it was simply too uncomfortable.
