On check in I asked where the £5 a night parking was as that was in hotel.coms add for this hotel (the main reason I booked this hotel). They said there isn't. The nearest free parking was a ten minute walk, but as there was 4 hour bays & 10 hour bays I had to move the car 3 times before getting a 10 hour space. The room was ok. We were given a upgrade to one with air-conditioning (a portable one on a table in the corner of the room). It felt like a down grade as we booked a room with a sofa & we ended up with 2 old chairs I had to bang the joints in. There was no bin in the bedroom & just a small one in the bathroom. So we used a plastic bag to put rubbish in. The tea was tea leaves in a jar & not a simlpe bag. The furniture was rustic, but not in the best of shape. The noise from the road from 5:30 in the morning was so loud. The bar had a poor choice of drinks on tap & the apple cider I asked for was sold out! We went across the road to the Punch bowl which had a great choice on tap. The breakfast which didn't start until 10 was a massive disappointment. Black burnt toast, crispy bacon & bad tasting baked beans. My only plus was the shower & the eggs at breakfast!
