Looks exactly like the pictures. We booked one of the suites which was beautiful however the bed was quite hard. When our room was cleaned, it wasn’t hoovered and toiletries weren’t refilled, which I would expect from a place like this. But overall, it was a beautiful stay, the spa was nice

The let down were breakfast where things you come to expect to be available such as cereals, fruit juices, jams, and fruit we not available except as an additional cost. When I collected my bill, I saw that a glass of orange juice at breakfast juice £11. The other disappointment was the Spa which cost £70 per couple if you use it. In all hotels I have stayed in, both the above facilities were available to Guests as standard, NEVER as an additional cost.. This is particularly surprising given this is a high-end hotel. Even though we loved the place: service, staff, cleanliness, location and surroundings, it is not somewhere we will go back to for the reasons given above, which is quite disappointing.

The Deluxe rooms do NOT feature valley views, but have a view of a busy road. So the website is misleading in this respect. Going to the spa costs extra (£35 per person per 2 hours, including only pools and sauna). So the value is only mediocre.

Visually the place makes a very good impact. Dinner, the food was excellent as were the staff. Breakfast … we’d booked it at check in. We turned up to breakfast and there was nothing booked , the service at breakfast was okay , we did have to case up something. But overall we had a very good stay and would return.

We had a lovely stay at the Marquis, our suite was lovely and had a private west facing balcony so we watched a lovely sunset over the river. Dinner was excellent, as was the wine, highly recommended. Staff were all really friendly and helpful.

The Marquis has just completed renovations, and while there were a few teething problems, the staff was wonderful. They could not have done more to make our stay wonderful. Special shout out to David, Ryann, Lucy, Emma, Kate, Annabelle, Carmin, and everyone else we came in contact with, all were wonderful. The spa and pool were not even mentioned as they just opened, the facility is one of the best we ever visited, again with the staff to match. We are looking forward to our next stay.

A lovely comfortable hotel with beautiful decor and warm friendly staff. Rooms are not sound proofed- so you are able to hear a lot of noise around dinner time. The room it self was beautiful, with a comfortable bed and cosy lighting. The bathroom was nice- the shower was wonderful. Unfortunately our trip was let down by the food! My husband had a full English breakfast, in which we did have to complain as the sausage appeared to be raw. They apologised profusely, took our plates and spoke to the chef, on his return he told us the sausage was probed and was certainly cooked, however the sausage was pink as they have pink preserve in them! Is this a thing? I certainly haven’t come across this before. Surely a good sausage wouldn’t need “pink preserve” in it ! £4 was take off my husband’s £20 breakfast as good will- even though he only had 20% of his breakfast due to being put off.
