The hotel is in a great location with views across to the sea from the terrace area. It's a very popular wedding venue but unfortunately the hotel put us in a room near to the main wedding reception rooms which meant we could hear the wedding disco very loudly, so we struggled to sleep! I did complain and was told the disco would finish at 12 midnight! Nothing more was done by the hotel which was disappointing. The bathroom had cobwebs around the toilet area, but otherwise was clean.

This hotel is lovely. Given its location i was expecting to see more life in the hotel seems to attract an elderly demographic. The staff are friendly but both pleasant and professional. The hotel is well kept, the beds are comfortable however its worth noting that not all rooms have air conditioning which has to be requested at the point of booking; and i am informed that air con is only for suites which made the stay a little uncomfortable in terms of the heat - but they did all that they could by providing fans and bottled water in the room. All in all, id come back again but maybe when its not 30 degrees outside. I am a sole traveler for busines and stayed in one of the single bed rooms. The bed was big, comfortable and the room was modern and well equipped.

My daughter and I have come to Bournemouth every year at this time for the cheer event, and have stayed in a variety of places. None of them have been what they claimed on their websites - mostly shambolic, run down and a bit grubby. Miramar is none of these things - finally a well maintained, pretty hotel with a sea view that is even nicer than the photos. And unlike any of the other places we've stayed, who've always put us in the smallest, grottiest room with a tiny window overlooking the carpark, we were given one of the nicest rooms, with a balcony and a sea view, and were treated like royalty. Even at dinner, we were taken to a table by the window with a view. The staff are delightful. And dinner and breakfast were delicious. I can't tell you how much this meant to us - a perfect antidote to what was otherwise an emotional visit and the end of an era. Thanks Miramar for making it special.

The hotel was very nice, it had a nice well maintained garden with great sea views. The staff were nice and check in was quick and easy. It was about a 10-minute steep downhill walk to the beach. Breakfast was not included when booking from Hotels.com and we had to pay separately for it on site (which I think was expensive) and it was not a buffet. The age group of the hotel guests was old though but it was ok, nice and quiet. The only problem was that the room was very hot, we only stayed for 1 night and we barely slept that night! there was a small portable fan which did not help that much! Out of 2 small windows, only 1 could be opened. Considering that the hotel is beachfront and many guests go there in the summer, the hotel could have provided something extra like a cooling unit or something.

The Jewels in the crown of Hotel Miramar are it's beautiful well kept front Gardens, patio area and stunning sea views. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms cleanliness was very good. Location of the Hotel is close to sea front, and the wonderful Russell Cotes house. But be aware it is on the top of the cliffs and therefore a steep climb back from the Pier. The hotel is a traditional British hotel, with the majority of guests are older. The Hotels decor and furnishings are warn. My beds mattresses dipped in the middle. The rooms TV had very poor reception and even after attempting to returned only a few channels were watchable, but they were still pixilated. With such a wonderful patio to sit on and enjoy a drink it's such a shame that the bar area and inside seating area is so uninviting. I was also shocked to find out at check out that a 10% service charge was added to my bar bill when I collected all our drinks from the bar and I had to wait to be served between a bar full of empty glasses. If a waiter had taken orders and brought drinks to us at our table on the patio a service charge would have been appropriate. Charges for Breakfast are not opaque, it seems of you book direct breakfast is included. But if you book via Expedia etc then Breakfast is £17.50, but they then add 10% a service charge on top. Breakfast itself is good, but 1/4 of a slice of fried bread is tight and as its deep fried an altogether toast would be good.

The view from my bedroom window/balcony, was beautiful. The meals in the hotel restaurant were also good. The downsides, however, were: the shower was over the bath, ( no separate cubical, there was nowhere to hang the towel after the shower: ie: no heated towel rail: no dressing gown and slippers in the bedroom. These basic amemities have always been in 4* hotels that I have personally stayed in during my working life.

The rooms was spacious, lots of drawers - small wardrobe. Very clean. Sadly a view of the rubbish bins and an overhanging tree made it very dark. Make sure you aren't given room 124!

First of all, the staff were so lovely - the gentleman that greeted me was so friendly and helpful, he really brought a smile to my face. He was also the person that bid me farewell as I left and was just as pleasant then, leaving me with a really great impression. The room was small, but very clean and totally perfect for a solo traveller like me. I entered through the carpark/street side of the hotel and was totally oblivious to the view out the front of the hotel until the next morning - what a beautiful surprise. The weather was a bit grey and drizzly, but the view out over the sea was really breathtaking - don't miss it! Would 100% recommend this place to anyone.
