While staying overnight the hot water machine was off.

Disappointing experience and poor handling of the issue. The hot water was not working, which was a major inconvenience during my stay. What was more disappointing was the lack of initiative from the hotel staff to resolve the issue or provide an alternative solution. On top of that, the room I received smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, which made the room uncomfortable. What I found most disappointing was that, despite these issues being caused by the hotel, there was no apology, compensation, complimentary service, or any other form of goodwill gesture offered to make up for the inconvenience. For a hotel of this standard, I expected better maintenance, more proactive service, and better handling of guest complaints.

We knew this was an older hotel, so we had expectations. However, the price wasn't cheap, so when the AC and water heater didn't work properly, it was a huge disappointment. We didn't have a water heater for the entire four nights we stayed. Even more disappointing, when we complained about this, the front desk staff on standby (especially on the night of the 30th) raised their voices. The hospitality was poor, and the restaurant staff were rude. The only friendly person was the security guard at the front desk, and we appreciate that. The room also had a leaking roof. The bidet in the bathroom leaked. Very disappointing.

The staff was very helpful. The rooms were in keeping with the older but still good condition of the hotel, but the service and amenities were commensurate with its star rating. Overall, very good.
