Unfortunately, although the staff were lovely and helpful, I would not return here. On initially walking into the room, it looked okay at first glance, but it didn’t take much closer inspection to notice the dirt and how run-down the room actually was. The flooring in the main room was separating in places, and I actually hurt my foot on one of the raised sections. Looking closer, I noticed the floor was still covered in dust, hair from previous occupants and, bizarrely, several hair accessories. The bathroom was even worse. The floor was in such poor condition that it genuinely felt as though you were going to fall through it. The toilet brush was completely covered in someone else’s toilet paper (vom), and there were countless chips in the bathtub, several of which were sharp. I ended my stay as I always do by stripping the bed, and was once again shocked by what I found. The pillows, duvet and especially whatever this mattress protector was were filthy. There were visible stains, dust and a multitude of hairs. It honestly made my skin crawl to think that the bed had been made up on top of it, and I cannot understand how something in that condition was considered acceptable for another guest. The staff were lovely, but unfortunately the cleanliness and overall condition of the room were simply not up to an acceptable standard. I would not stay here again.

This is one of the worst places we ever stayed. We stayed there for a night. Room and bathroom are very dirty with full of dust. Poorly maintained. I cleaned spider web on the bathroom counter. Bathroom flush doesn't work properly. Water pressure is good but keeps switching between hot and cold. Makes it difficult to use. Towels are not good. Lint from towels sticked to body. Thin pillow per person were provided. They don't have an extra pillow. This hotel is not at all worth the price. Pros: Breakfast was good and kid's playarea is a plus.

We occupied room 24, where we received a warm welcome from the hotel staff. The staff members were exceptionally friendly and supportive. Overall, the cleanliness of the room was satisfactory. However, the toilet closet was not entirely clean from the previous guest's use. I reported this to the staff, who promptly came to the room to conduct their checks. They returned to inform me that it was a stain on the side rather than dirt. I did not want to impose further, as they were very kind and approachable. I returned to the room and cleaned the toilet myself before using it. We enjoyed a pleasant breakfast, and my son particularly liked their breakfast menu. Overall, the staff were very kind and approachable, making it a good place to stay. The customer service is trustworthy.Also,they valued people of every ethnicity and interacted with them respectfully.

This hotel has character although it could do with some tlc in places. They have a kids playground which my 6yr old loved. Also the staff are wonderful as I noted when my daughter fell out of bed one night during our stay and the staff were only interested in my daughters well being rather than the decorative candle holder that broke as she tumbled to the floor. I wish there were more hotels like this than the typical box hotel chains I find in the USA where I live. For those from the USA, please be aware there is no A/C in the hotel rooms (the windows are easy to open) and no elevator to the second floor rooms.

Our room was very dirty. There was pink scum around the basin and bath. Cobwebs above the bath. The laminate flooring was uneven and chipped. There were food crumbs in the bedside drawers. I don’t think this room has been cleaned for a while. Breakfast was ok. The fridge where the bottle milk was kept in the breakfast room had dirty stains and hair on the bottom of it. I’m glad the milk was in capped bottles. The staff were very friendly. I guess this place was cheap for a reason!!!

Staff were very welcoming and friendly. It was my brother in laws birthday and they put balloons in his room, gave him a cup cake and even bought him a card. All of this we didn’t ask for but made his birthday a little bit more special. Would definitely stay here again. Play area for my son was also a much added bonus.

We needed a stop off for the night on a journey and this was just fine. The bed was clean and comfortable and that's pretty much where the good news ends! Rather tired property. Room was on its last legs. Laminate floor in bad condition. Plugs not attached with chains! Some dirt in bathroom. Enamel in bath is chipped. Loo was very difficult to flush. Loo was rather filthy in the U bend. TV fizzled out just at the end of Djokovic match and there was then no tv signal! Breakfast was edible but not great. Sausages not the best. Bacon not the best. There is a small fridge for milk and it was filthy with a curly hair to boot! Again laminate floor is past its best and one window was smashed by the hot food! Can I recommend this place? Sadly not.

Hotel needs a significant refresh. Bathrooms poor and service not good.

This was our second stay here and it was better than the first. The staff were 110%. Given the heat a couple of garden brollies would have been welcome. Thanks.

Fantastic few days over a very HOT week .. and the mini fridge in the room was a blessing! But then, the Gray Manor Hotel has lots of little touches that just make your stay very, very enjoyable .. and the breakfasts (delicious!) - Ideally placed for the A303, free parking, and fabulous outdoor areas for a cold beer or to just wander .. trust me, this is a great place to stay!

I loved the vibe of this hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, a nice bar and most importantly a very doggy-friendly place. I would recommend it to all travelers :)

Room was good, needs a little updating as the bathroom floor had dark patches.

Comfortable beds. great breakfast, lovely staff, and two awesome dogs!
