the Gray Manor Hotel and Wedding Venue: We got our room and after going into the room finding out the cleaners had not been in there. All the bed sheets and pillows were stained and there was hair all over the place. I went back to the reception to complain, and a man came out in his bathrobe with no shoes on and his chest hanging out; he had clearly just gotten out of bed. He eventually gave me another room, but this one was just as bad, with lipstick stains all over the headboard and a filthy bathroom. The rest of the night was an absolute disaster. There was a huge vibration noise coming from the taps and a constant beeping noise coming from the hallway that made it impossible to sleep. This place was a total nightmare and definitely not what you would expect from a hotel and wedding venue. I would not recommend staying here.

Lovely Hotel. The team were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a good selection and very good coffee. I will stay here again

The staff were lovely , the room was comfortable . Food was nice . The only down side it was very cold in the hotel . Both the guard dogs were lovely and brilliant temperament for such big dogs really friendly .

The room was not very clean, the flooring was all uneven, no toilet paper in the toilet. The bar area was very cold, no Vodka stocked in the bar. Reception staff were wonderful very welcoming. The whole place is very dated needs decorating throughout and all the flooring needs replacing. The shower was terrible you had to hold the head whilst showering or the water went everywhere. The grounds were quite beautiful.

No heating in bar and dining area. Evening bar meal just ok. Bathroom very tired. Shower hose not long enough to fit on wall bracket. ( shower in one hand soap in the other) bed clean and comfortable.

No heating despite low outside temperatures. rarely any hot water. TV would not move from welcome screen. Limited dinner menu, mainly burgers or curries (not all of them available). Only one visible member of staff each day. Receptionist also covered the bar, food orders, waiting etc. No fried eggs at breakfast. Potentially dangerous use of electrical extension reels.

Needs an update. Improve the showers and bedding and do something on soundproofing

We feel like there should be at least a partial refund. The plumbing was not working so we didn't get the breakfast buffet. They did provide a pastries,granola bar,yogurt and juice, and a couple free drinks from the bar. We were counting on the buffett sustaining us through a long day of travel and were very disappointed. The staff was friendly and did their best I suppose,however,it is hard to understand how building maintenance issues are not planned for.

All great given cost/value. It's more of a small wedding venue really but suited my quick overnight. Friendly staff and really good breakfast cooked very nicely. Very happy. You even get greeted by friendly wolves on arrival - lovely huge dogs😍. Made my day! Don't hold the door for them though as they will only use the dog flap😂

clean rooms

Room was neglected. There were two massive husky’s waiting for you at reception so if you’re not a dog person not great. The lights didn’t work in the room. Only one of out 4 did. No bedside lights or plug sockets. Room needed a good clean and was so hot we slept with a fan on the entire night in October. Shower was tiny.

We were only staying one night while we were working in the area. The room was large, comfortable and clean. There is a bar which is OK (there are nice pubs a short drive away as well) and the breakfast was a standard hotel buffet but of good quality. There are some very large but very dopey and friendly dogs.

We arrived at 7.45 pm due to traffic hold ups. The receptionist asked if we needed food and directed us to the bar where we were able to order. We took our drink back to our room and on ordering our scampi and chips we were offered room delivery. Our food arrived with minimum delay and was very tasty. There is easy parking and we noticed several EV chargers. Comfy bed - tea making facilities and a mini fridge. Variety of buffet breakfast choices but we were unable to make tea as the urn had been unplugged. Friendly helpful staff

Lovely staff very friendly and welcoming, pet friendly very reasonable prices, great for a quiet but also adventurous if you’re in to that.

Staff were great and very friendly, breakfast was really good and had a good variety and the property was nice. There are 2 big beautiful friendly dogs that rome the hotel, which was a pleasant surprise. My only complaint is, the carpets in the bedrooms are very dirty with unpleasant stains all over them. The hotel should consider taking the carpets out and just have hard floors instead. Otherwise a really pleasant stay.
