For tourism, the Royal Torarica is probably your best bet. It's not over crowded and it's next to everything. Most importantly, it's in a safe area if you use caution.

This is a premier place for staying in Paramaribo! Everything about the place was great! The amenities, the fact that whatever place you stay, you still have access to the other parts of the Torarica group properties. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a great variety for all tastes and preferences. The room was very modern and sleek, with great attention given to all aspects of the room, including the bathroom. The pools were very good, and the Tora wellness area with the jacuzzi and sauna was great! The restaurant at the Resort section was tasty and reasonably priced. They also gave us a free drink as our food came later than that of other patrons around us who had arrived after us. I highly recommend this place! Would love to go again!

This was an excellent hotel for the days that I was in Paramaribo, Suriname. Very helpful staff and very clean room. Food was excellent in the restaurant. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Breakfast was superb. Courteous friendly Staff - Octavia at the front desk was especially helpful. The only suggestion is the room cleanliness fell slightly short - whoever cleaned it forgot to remove the bathroom floor mat towel and did not refill the shower gel.

Stay was excellent as always. The balcony was very spacious. I would certainly recomd taking one of those.

Pool was the best part of this hotel. Room is dated. Airco was warm all night! 25 degrees even though we adjusted it to lowest setting. Bathroom was clean but door had mould on it and looked like it would get unhinged anytime. Breakfast was a miss - they ran out of cutlery, the coffee machine broke 2-3 times, and the food did not impress. Did I mention the pool was the best part - it was actually cool unlike the WARM water at the sister hotel Torarica.

Staff were great, location is my preferred near restaurants and the river, airport shuttle very convenient, but room was freezing and could not be fixed despite several attempts. ATM at the other Tarioca takes visa, the grand version doesn’t. As in most places, get a metered taxi rather than the pirates who are standing out front on call.
