Friendly staff, spacious suite, and outstanding breakfast! The view was gorgeous from our 2nd floor room, and the shared balcony area was very welcoming. Great place to stay in the Monteverde/Saint Elena area.

The room was exactly as depicted on the website. Breakfasts were great, and we saw some beautiful birds right on the property (motmot and parrot). We were given misinformation about a tour and were told that the park entrance fee was included but it was not. Overall, we would stay at this property again.

The staff (ie: Glenn) were great and friendly. I was a bit surprised by the location when we first arrived as it's in a bit of a residential sort of neighborhood. However, it was not a problem and we were just a short drive into the downtown area for shopping and dining. The breakfast that is included was very nice. There is an elevated deck with comfortable seating offering great views to the west. You can actually see the Pacific if it's not too hazy.

Staff was amazing, breakfast was great. Couch in the room was a little uncomfortable and no hot water the last morning of our stay.

Breakfast was yummy and included, rooms clean and nice, service was great- front desk staff was helpful and booked some excursions for us. Clean hotel and close to downtown. Only one or two restaurants are walkable.

Our stay was great. The staff was very helpful. Mayco went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Morning breakfast options were good and delicious. Overall, a good option to stay when visiting Monteverde area.

Servers were a little on the edge, the area, although safe, is not very admirable, other than that it is a good stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Calathea. The staff were very helpful and amazing. We stayed in the clean bird room, the bathroom was big and we had a nice balcony to ourselves. The only reason why I am giving a 5-star overall is because the breakfast was a bit bland. If the question is if I would stay at this property again, I definitely will!

1.5 Km from center of village. But you have the option to use the walkway along main road to walk up to center. Very quiet location. Room great and the staff very helpful if asked. For early birds, you can order sandwiches and fruit for take away.
