Great views were obstructed by scaffolding. Staff were continously fantastic and helpful. Would definitely stay again. Great value for money in best location.

Bedrooms and bathrooms are a bit tired and in need of decoration but on the whole it didn’t spoil our stay, beds were clean and comfortable. Plenty of selection at breakfast. Would stay again.

Clean room, comfy bed. The breakfast was nice with plenty of choice. Hotel was convenient for parking and local amenities.

Booked 2 twin rooms for the weekend, easy check in,staff friendly, rooms big,and clean, very nice stay.

Clean, no frills room. Unfortunately noisy seagull noise from 4am onwards due to single pane glass windowd

All the staff were friendly and efficient. A lot of renovation work going on but staff did their best to make our stay comfortable

Bright room fantastic breakfast nice bar frustrating lift can take a while to get to your floors as it kept resetting and returning to the basement and then if you were lucky to the floor you wanted.

A lovely furnished hotel however :- very poor lighting did not enhance the interior decor in the public spaces, hotel felt dark and depressing.

Fantastic large family room with everything that was needed. Great location and views. Good breakfast and friendly staff. Downside was the lack of parking. The hotel has a small private car park that is a first come service. Be aware that if you drive in looking for a space, your car is registered on the cameras but not registered leaving the car park again so you get charged for every night you stay even if you parked somewhere else (just check before paying). Otherwise a very pleasant stay and would definitely go back again.

Nice size room wouldn’t class it as a delux room needs upgrading carpet had lots of stains on bathroom clean sink had crack in shower panel at bottom coming away did report to reception was waiting on new sink staff on reception and bar and dining room very friendly

We have been going to the royal over many years, it is a fantastic full of history hotel, our recent visit surprised us on how much work had been done to the hotel in a very positive way, we also noticed that it is now attracting younger people which is brilliant the staff are always lovely and the location is perfect, more work was underway and we look forward to seeing the results on our next visit which is only in 3 weeks time with our daughters and grandchildren, unfortunately due to being on a budget we won't be having Seaview rooms 😪but I'm sure we will still enjoy our stay, we only had breakfast which was very good

Lovely stay only problem was the heat in the room even with the fan on the room wouldn't cool down and unfortunately the windows didn't open. But apart from that lovely stay
