The staff were very welcoming, helpful and interacted with customers warmly, we were watching while having a drink and meal in the bar as well as our own experience. The room looked liked it had been redecorated fairly recently and was clean. Two tower fans were provided which helped as the sun shone into our room in the day. The location worked well for us, being on the edge of town, as we wanted a quieter location. There were plenty of parking spaces available. The breakfast was cereal and a choice of cooked options and a few other options. We had the full English which was nice enough. The bar has an Indian restaurant alongside it and the food was lovely. It was good value for money and we would return.

The staff were very helpful and nice, the bed and bedding were decent, as was the breakfast. Unfortunately it's on the main Derby road (A6) in Milford which is a couple of miles away from Belper centre. The room was incredibly hot due to the recent weather (naturally) but the window in room 3 has no means of keeping it open as the window stay bracket has broken. A fan was provided but made little difference. The toilet seat is also broken.

Lovely stay! Small touches like a fan in the room helped with the heat. Huge rooms, very clean and nicely furnished. Breakfast was great and plenty of choice!

On arrival the staff was very helpful. Rooms not the cleanest. A lot of cobwebs & spiders, bad marks in the bathroom that could have been cleaned easy. Toilet seat very loose & wobbly. Water left in the kettle, not sure how long for so wouldn’t use it. Hair dryer, iron & iron board in the room ready to use if needed. Good soft bed but next to a busy road so it’s very noisy all throughout the night. Breakfast not good. Continental consisted of cereal & flapjacks with no bowls to put the cereal in. Cooked breakfast was like it was cooked the evening before and warmed up ( hard sausages, hard bacon & hash browns so greasy & dark you couldn’t eat it. Evening meal very nice and enjoyable

We had a nice stay here. The room is well decorated and equipped. The staff were welcoming & friendly. We enjoyed a good meal in the accompanying pub! The included breakfast offers a good spread. We stayed during a rather warm weekend/heatwave, a fan was provided in the room. However of note it is an old building so is warm. Also its location on the A6 means there is some road noise if the window is open. However we enjoyed our stay and would return!

Beautifully clean room, excellent staff, had a great nights sleep

Staff were great, breakfast was great, rooms were great and wow the pillows are the best I’ve slept on. Lovely hotel in a lovely location. My only criticism would be our bedroom walls could do with a freshen up, but 10/10 otherwise.

Great place to stay been multiple times and always as good as our 1st visit lovely staff always helpfull.

Breakfast and Dinner were excellent . The bar service was excellent also, they made our drinks even though they were not on the menu (twice). Staff is great. We highly recommend.

Pleasant stay for work. Very friendly staff and good drinks at the bar. I had forgotten my plug to charge my phone and the staff lent me one for the length of my stay. Rooms were clean but require a little sprucing up with a coat of paint. Food was good and all made fresh and a decent selection for breakfast.

The bar is excellent Happy hour 4 to 6 and the food is very good and a free breakfast all round excellent

Lovely room, great staff and the best cooked breakfast I’ve had in ages. The food in the Indian restaurant in the hotel was very good.

Great place, lovely setting. Room was good size, nice big TV. Bar and restaurant areas well decorated and evening meal and breakfast were excellent.

Food and staff excellent. The room needed some repairs. Constructive criticism: 2 bedside lamps would have been preferable and a non-slip shower mat was needed.

Spotlessly clean, comfortable but 'no frills' accommodation. Suggest bring own showrr gel and bottled water. Indian cuisine in Elephant and Peacock superb.
