I have stayed at numerous places over the years, from luxury hotels in Vegas to seedy rooms above a bar, and the Evergreen is honestly the first motel where I felt like I was coming home. It may have a few years on it, but our room was absolutely clean, homey, and welcoming. The TV was on and playing restful music when we entered, there are real (and healthy!) plants around the room, and thoughtful touches everywhere - including a long shoe-horn and an emergency umbrella! The flat screen TV was big enough to watch without dominating the room, which might be a significant part of the charm. There was a fridge, full size stove and oven, dishes and pots and pans, and enough basic utensils to prep a simple meal if you wish... and Mother Webb's is not far away if you don't. The bed had an older mattress, but it was obviously high quality, still comfy, and the area is quiet and dark, so we slept very well. Each room has its own mini-split heat pump, so we stayed cool without the racket of the old-school through-the-wall air conditioning units still found in most older motels. Checking in was the fastest I have experienced anywhere. They had a package ready with my key and an info sheet, they told me about breakfast and laundry facilities, and we were done - elapsed time maybe three minutes, although none of it felt less than welcoming. Breakfast... well, if you are looking for bacon and eggs or waffles, this is the wrong place. But those scones that they brag about are on point,

Everything was lovely!! Only drawback was the difficulty of finding the property. The roundabouts were very confusing Maybe it was just us.

Everything was beautiful and well kept. The only thing they can improve on is the doorknobs to get into your room. The key is very hard to unlock the door. Especially in room 8.

Wonderful spot. Park at room door. Place was clean, staff was friendly. Only dissapointment was there was no continental breakfast on our departure day, but was told on check in, so we made other arrangements.

This mom and daughter team have put lots of love and great ideas in this boutique motel, tons of pleasing tiny details! Right down to the robes and slippers! It’s spotless and retro and you just feel happy staying here. Breakfast was great too. Great job ladies. I’ll highly recommend it to any friends or family coming to Nova Scotia.

Lovely place to stay

This was one of the nicest places we stayed in our travels across Eastern Canada. Lovely hosts, lovely room, great breakfast. I would highly recommend it.

The Evergreen Inn was a little off the beaten path, but it was well worth the trip. From the outside, the inn looked modest, though it was clean and well maintained. Our room, however, was a delightful surprise. It was beautifully appointed, with furniture and fixtures as nice as those in some of the upscale hotels we’ve stayed in. We also appreciated the thoughtful touches, including makeup-removal towels, robes, slippers, and even live plants that made the room feel especially welcoming. Breakfast was another highlight. We enjoyed freshly baked scones (I’d love the recipe!), steel-cut oats, and fresh, hot coffee in the cozy lobby area. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Evergreen and would happily stay there again.

I highly recommend staying at the Evergreen Inn. The accommodation was immaculate and I felt very comfortable there.

The room was very clean and cozy. Check in was very easy with everything taken care of before we got there and a folder with a key and all the information we needed ready upon arrival. We didn’t get the chance to have breakfast because we slept in but I’m sure it would have been delicious and I’ll be back in the future to try the scones. It was a lovely spot not too far away from town and very quiet. Whether travelling alone, as a couple or as a family I would definitely recommend this spot.

The Antigonish Evergreen Inn was easily the best stay I've had at hotel in a long time. It's a pleasant spot on the outskirts of the town overlooking some scenic hills and fields, and the room I stayed in was both cozy and comfortable. Not only that, the staff was extremely helpful, giving me a complimentary shaving kit, toothbrush, and toothpaste when I forgot to pack mine, and the exceedingly patient owner even entertained my request to show me how to close my Venetian blinds the right way! There's definitely a specific and friendly vibe that you really only get with a family-owned business like that. The free breakfast is also not to miss, with oatmeal, delicious local blueberries, pastries, coffee, and more. The small shared dining area in the front office is also a great place to meet new travelers, and I was lucky enough to sit down with a variety of pleasant and colorful fellow guests. Although unfortunately I don't see myself visiting Antigonish again any time soon, if I were to, I would be staying at the Antigonish Evergreen Inn.

Such a cute little place! It was a perfect stop for the night. Breakfast was great and there was a cute dog too! Very clean room and bathroom and comfy bed. Definitely would stay here again!
