Very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Newly renovated bathroom. Great start for coast to coast cycling

Dining area getting a makeover, but everything just as good as ever. Food excellent and room spotless. I use this great hotel on a regular basis when visiting my Mum who is in a care home.

The hotel is under refurbishment. This is not reflected in the price nor mentioned when booking. Hotel is in poor condition and the accommodation was not clean. The bathroom had old flannels hanging from the shower curtain and a used bar of soap covered in hairs. I contacted the hotel about my concerns and they said because we had booked via Expedia that I should complain to them.

Hotel was undergoing renovations which was not disclosed on booking , no evening meals available for guests but functions went ahead with food provided !! Also not mentionef was no lift and was 39 stairs to our room and i have mobiliy issues .apart from these issues hotel was fine, staff very friendly , breakfast was very good. Room serviced daily.

Wonderfully clean room. Dinner was tasty, well priced and service outstanding.

The room had a light right outside so wasn’t very dark, the other guests door bang shut and wake you up. But the bed was comfortable and clean

Seemed a lot of money for a fairly basic place. Very friendly, cleaner didnt miss any corners, poached eggs particularly good, but cheap bread and jugs of stewing coffee / tea at breakfast

Nice stay . Good breakfast. Room comfortable and warm. Only fault no glasses in bathroom for toothbrushing .

Dinner was really great, the service and meals themselves. Attentive staff at bar too. Breakfast also prompt and well cooked to order. Frequently chose this hotel as good value and rarely disappoints

I had a one night stay here and have zero complaints about the hotel. Check in was straightforward, room was very clean, with tea/coffee etc and the bar and restaurant had good options. Breakfast was lovely too.

I stayed at the Chase for just a night ahead of a business meeting. I got a ground floor room overlooking the front door. The lights outside were on all night making the room very bright. The noise from the rooms above and people coming and going at the front of the hotel kept me awake until the early hours. There were no black-out blinds and the curtains weren't great. The bathroom was poor...broken bath/shower taps, damaged bath panel and low water pressure. I needed a place for a good night of sleep...this wasn't it.
