The room was really dark and I didn't like the open plan layout with the toilet in the bedroom (no privacy). The room décor was tired and the jacuzzi didn't work. Only 5 hangers which the staff quickly remedied. Lovely long decking area but it hadn't been cleaned and had no decking furniture so you couldn't sit outside. The staff were absolutely super though and the food was amazing. We ate in the Thai restaurant one evening which was great. Also the Oak Restaurant and again the food was super - and we had a really great breakfast each day. The whole place is fantastically unique, quirky and beautiful when all lit up at night. The farm shop 2 mins walk up the road is a must - it was fabulous and again the staff were absolutely super, friendly and very helpful. Oh and the bed and pillows were fantastically comfortable so we slept really well - just what you need when away for a country break!

Having never stayed before at the Crazy Bear I went in with high expectations, however I didn’t realise the room which was meant to be a decent level, was the size of a postage stamp, just enough room for a double bed, no spa even though it was advertised as that’s the other venue not Steadhampton. Overall less than impressed, especially for the money, probably the most expensive hotel you can stay in per square foot, which was about 12.

Helpful and attentive staff, amazing breakfast and easy parking. The Crazy Bear is certainly quirky but in a very endearing way.

Was really good we were room only, very bougie for our wedding anniversary. Would of given it 5 stars but there was a delay in getting the security deposit back which was debitted and not held! Had to chase to get it credited back to our account.

Terrible room, mould in bathroom, peeling decor, condensation, shower gel empty, room directly below smoking area, no breakfast, asked for a refund, offered £150 off next stay, refused and got pushed us back to Hotel.com, great value at £300 a night, not. We did have a great Thai meal but that was about it.

2 days before our stay we get a call to let us know there will be a party taking place and the rooms are directly above it! The receptionist who made the call was shocking and felt like she couldn’t care less that I spent virtually £400 on a room for the Hubby’s birthday and a big event was going on until 1:00 in the morning! We ate food on site which was lovely but each time we had drinks we were met with different prices for the exact order. We question it every time but were met with that’s what the till says! To top off this horrendous stay - staff entered our room at 12:30 in the morning without warning, frightening us thinking we were being attacked no calling out to see if anyone was in the room before entering just flung the door open. 5 minutes later as we were getting changed to find a manager the door unlocks again in the middle of me and my husband getting changed. The staff claimed a drunken guest claimed they had checked out of our room but didn’t bother to check their systems to see we were not checked out. I was told there and then by the manager we would get a full refund yet nobody has called me today - receptionist in the morning was also clueless claiming she had no idea what had happened the previous night and changed her mind not even 5 minutes later to say I would get a refund! Eagerly awaiting a refund before I escalate further as it totally ruined my husbands birthday and were scared all night that we had to barricade the door.

Our stay here was for an on-site wedding. The event was well run, food was lovely and staff were good. The area around was lovely, safe enough for children to have a run around. I liked that the evening disco in one room and there were other areas if you wanted to sit out, chat with friends and family Our room was comfortable, the decor is quirky but

On check in we were gifted an upgrade and given the option of two rooms which was quite unexpected. The staff were happy and chatty with us. We had a meal in the Thai restaurant which was really delicious. Nothing really to fault

The staff were amazing and polite. The food was excellent but breakfast a little costly. The room was unique to say the least but too dark! Bed so comfortable, decor a little tired
