Please do not believe the bad reviews about this hotel, most of the bad reviews were made before the 2025 remodeling of the hotel. My family and I just spend a week in this place and it is great. The rooms are brand new, clean and with all the amenities imaginable, they even have a free serve-bar with snacks, beer and soda and whatever you use they replenish it for free every day. it is in the historic center and every attraction is within walking distance. There is a restaurant a few doors from the hotel called the Pagoda, and the food is very inexpensive and real Mexican food. The enchiladas and the Azteca soup are amazing, also some days they have pozole after 5 pm. The hotel is in a busy street, with a seven 11 and a pharmacy steps away. It is about 5 blocks from the Zocalo and you feel quite safe. Tons of restaurants and taco places, try the steak taco at Taqueria Cinco de Mayo, really good. The best Mexican sweet bread are about 2 blocks away at panaderia Ideal, the place is always busy and the bread is really good with a cup of coffee in the morning. The windows on the rooms are sound proof, so you can sleep well even if your room is facing the street. The hotel is in the middle of a busy city, you have stores, traffic, restaurants and people coming and going. If you are looking for a place away from noise and daily activities look someplace else. This is the real deal when it comes to Mexican culture. Enjoy
