About Langkawi Wildlife Park
Previously known as Bird Paradise, Langkawi Wildlife Park is a zoo housing a wide range of birds and animals. Located at Jalan Ayer Hangat, the park was established in 2002 and spreads over 5 acres of land. It’s a perfect destination to go for animal person and eco-activists. It features interactive sections showcasing introductory animals, an aviary with a stunning man-made waterfall, and fascinating sessions with various creatures.
The zoo hosts 150 types of small animals and birds from Russia, Africa, and Australia, divided into some sections. You’d have an interesting experience in the walk-in aviary, where around 1500 birds live and fly around. They may also approach you and perch on your hand if you have some bird feed. In the Reptile and Mammal section, you’d find giant pythons, cute Sahara desert Fennec foxes, prehistoric crocodiles, iguanas, and turtles. If you feel challenged enough, head to the Birds of Prey section to take part in the eagle feeding sessions and let them perch on your hand. Tiny vervets and long-tailed macaques are found in the Primate section.
Don’t bid farewell to the park without walking in the souvenir shops where chocolates, perfumes, glittering jewelry, and souvenirs are retailed at duty-free rates. Feeling faint from hunger after hours of animal adventures? Stop by some cafes and restaurants as well to get a little tasty.
