Air China is China’s only national flag carrier that was established in 1988. With a headquarter in Shunyi District, Beijing, Air China’s flight operations are based at Beijing Capital International Airport. Air China e-ticket is an eligible proof for booking an Air China flight. Show your e-ticket during check-in at the Air China counter at the airport, or use it for self check-in (at the airport or online), to get your boarding pass. With a 24-inch (around 86 cm) legroom, passengers in Economy Class can enjoy the flight comfortably. To make the trip more enjoyable, Air China has provided an in-flight entertainment system on each seat, equipped with a pair of headphone. Its content contains audio, TV, games, to newly released movies from the US. Even though there is no amenity kit offered, but the Economy Class passengers still get a pillow and a plastic-wrapped blanket to make sure they have a good rest during the flight.
Air China works with 110 catering companies to select the freshest, healthiest, and safest ingredients to provide every passenger with a perfect dining experience. For a long haul flight, Air China will serve tasty dishes and hot porridge for breakfast. Passengers can select all kinds of meat and seafood with rice or noodles. During short trips, passengers can also enjoy the Chinese style baked cake, sandwiches, hamburgers, etc. In addition to that, Air China also prepares various yogurt and fruit to be enjoyed with every meal.
Currently, the Air China’s Premium Economy Class can only be found on three types of long-haul aircraft, which are Boeing 747-8, 777-200, and Airbus A330-300. With 37-inch (around 94 cm) seat pitch, all seats in this cabin are wider than the ones in the Economy Class. During the flight, passengers can also enjoy an in-flight entertainment system, which offers a great selection of movies, audios, and games. Premium Economy Class is currently offered on flights from Beijing to Gatwick London, Dusseldorf, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou.
Working together with more than a hundred of catering companies, Air China offers its passengers a balanced diet, focusing on seasonal variations and freshness. Different routes mean the opportunity to sample specially prepared delicacies full of local flavor, from all kinds of meats to seafood, served with rice or noodles. Every meal is also prepared with various yogurt and fruit.
All the seats in Business Class cabin are fully flat and angled slightly away from the aisle, so they are considerably more private. Besides a comfortable pillow and blanket, each Business Class passenger will also get an amenity kit by L’Occitane, which contains a toothbrush, toothpaste, eye mask, lip balm, lotion, comb, and earplugs. Once most of the passengers have settled in their seats, the flight attendants will distribute hot towels. For a long haul flight, Air China has also provided a set of pajamas for each of its passenger.
For passengers on flights lasting more than an hour and a half and coinciding with meal times (three times a day), Air China has prepared a choice of in-flight meals. For breakfast, Air China offers a western-style Continental Breakfast of pastries and fruit. Meanwhile, for lunch and dinner, passengers can choose from at least three main courses, alongside appetizer, bread, butter, salad, soup, dessert, cheese, and fruit. In addition to that, a variety of snacks is also available between meals.
If the First Class passengers want to sleep during the flight, a cabin crew will help them recline the seat to a fully flat 180-degree position, lay down a cover, and offer a nice duvet. There is also a quite generous size of a compartment and an in-flight entertainment system with a great selection of movies, audios, TV shows, and games. Each passenger will also get an amenity kit by L’Occitane, which its items are similar to the ones offered in the Business Class. Passengers can also ask for pajamas before they have a nice sleep.
The First Class’ in-flight meal service is similar with the one in the Business Class. The breakfast menu offers pastries and fruit, hot porridge, and other Chinese favorites. For lunch and dinner, passengers can choose from at least three main courses, alongside appetizer, bread, butter, salad, soup, dessert, cheese, and fruit. Passengers can also enjoy fine wines from Chateaux in France. Air China has worked together with certified French wine tasters to carefully select more than 200 fine wines from around the world.
Together with Air China System carriers including Shenzhen Airlines, Shandong Airlines, Air Macau, Dalian Airlines, Inner Mongolia Airlines, and Tibet Airlines, Air China has conceived a frequent flyer program called PhoenixMiles. In addition to taking flights, passengers can also earn mileage when using the services of Air China’s partner hotels, car hire companies, or banking corporations. Accumulated mileage can be redeemed for free trips, free class upgrade, and other beneficial rewards. There are at least three membership tier levels offered by PhoenixMiles, which are Silver, Gold, and Platinum.
Air China Airport Lounge is located at Terminal 3 in the Beijing Capital International Airport. There are two kinds of airport lounges in Terminal 3, which are First and Business Class lounges for both domestic and international flights. These lounges have been provided with VIP areas, smoking rooms, dining areas, an entertainment center, internet stations, rooms for rest and relaxation, conference rooms, and other facilities. However, access to Air China Airport Lounge is only available for its First and Business Class passengers, as well as PhoenixMiles VIP members and Star Alliance Gold card holders.

The Air China’s flight attendant uniform is dominated with a red color, which is consistent with the visual identity of the airline. It features a long sleeve red blazer and a knee-length red skirt. They also wear a hat with Air China logo embroidered on the front side. To complete the look, Air China’s flight attendants wear a scarf around their neck and a pair of black pump shoes. Even though it may look very simple, but it is the simplicity that makes the flight attendants look elegant and sophisticated.
