Asiana Airlines (OZ) is one of South Korea’s two major airlines. Formerly known as Seoul Airlines, Asiana has been around for over 25 years in South Korea’s aviation industry. This airlines was established in 1988 by Kumho Asiana Group. It is headquartered at Asiana Town building in Seoul and operated from its hubs at Gimpo International Airport and Incheon International Airport.
After becoming a full member of Star Alliance, the airline expanded its global network reaching 104 destinations (14 domestic and 90 international) throughout Central Asia, Southeast Asia, Russia, Europe, China, Japan, America, and Oceania.
As of December 2015, Asiana owned 84 aircraft featuring Airbus and Boeing fleet. The airlines has also been focusing to increase the number of its fleet by ordering 71 aircraft to improve their performance in world’s aviation industry.

Asiana Airlines features five classes: First Suite Class, First Class, Business Smartium Class, Business Class, and Economy Class. First Suite Class and First Class are mainly operated for American route (LA, New York City, Chicago, Frankfurt). Passengers of First Suite Class are given luxurious treatment, such as a full flat bed stretching 210 cm in length complete with 32” HD personal monitor, while First Class passengers are spoiled with amenity kit, and pajamas to provide maximum comfort. For Business Smartium Class, the airline equips it with 180 degree reclining full flat bed type seat, coupled with Video on demand. For Economy Class, there are personal monitors for each passenger.
Passengers flying First Class and Business Class are privileged to get free 32 kg checked baggage while Economy Class passengers get up to 23 kg checked baggage. However, for carry-on baggage, all passengers get free 10 kg baggage.

Before Asiana Airlines was founded by Kumho Asiana Group (formerly known as Kumho Group), South Korean aviation industry was monopolized by Korean Air. In December 1988, the airline operated its maiden flights to Busan and Gwangju.
A year later, Asiana began serving international route with flights to Sendai, Japan. In 1990, the airline expanded its Japan network reaching further routes, such as Tokyo, Nagoya, and Fukuoka. Then, it opened the door of Southeast Asian countries by flying to Bangkok, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
Asiana Airlines has been rapidly growing for the past two decades and it has become a mid-sized global carrier. In 2003, the airline decided to become a full Star Alliance member which led it to expand global routes in its network.
Asiana Airlines Flight Attendant Uniform comes in a neat two-piece brown uniform featuring blazer and A-line skirt, designed based on Korean traditional dress, hanbok. The uniform also comes with hat and neck scarf.
The airlines offers a wide range of cuisine ranging from Western, Korean, to Japanese cuisine for its in-flight meal. It is partnered with leading Italian restaurant and Institute of Korean Royal Cuisine to provide diverse and finest cuisine for passengers. There is also pre-order meal service that allows passengers to select main course from the delicious Korean royal cuisine menu.
