To book Asiana Airlines ticket online, do as follows:

Profile of Asiana Airlines

Asiana Airlines (OZ) is one of South Korea’s two major airlines. Formerly known as Seoul Airlines, Asiana has been around for over 25 years in South Korea’s aviation industry. This airlines was established in 1988 by Kumho Asiana Group. It is headquartered at Asiana Town building in Seoul and operated from its hubs at Gimpo International Airport and Incheon International Airport.

After becoming a full member of Star Alliance, the airline expanded its global network reaching 104 destinations (14 domestic and 90 international) throughout Central Asia, Southeast Asia, Russia, Europe, China, Japan, America, and Oceania.

As of December 2015, Asiana owned 84 aircraft featuring Airbus and Boeing fleet. The airlines has also been focusing to increase the number of its fleet by ordering 71 aircraft to improve their performance in world’s aviation industry.

All employees devote themselves to provide unparalleled quality products, cutting-edge technologies, as well as the best service to passengers in order to create a beautiful atmosphere, and eventually, a beautiful corporation.

Asiana Airlines features five classes: First Suite Class, First Class, Business Smartium Class, Business Class, and Economy Class. First Suite Class and First Class are mainly operated for American route (LA, New York City, Chicago, Frankfurt). Passengers of First Suite Class are given luxurious treatment, such as a full flat bed stretching 210 cm in length complete with 32” HD personal monitor, while First Class passengers are spoiled with amenity kit, and pajamas to provide maximum comfort. For Business Smartium Class, the airline equips it with 180 degree reclining full flat bed type seat, coupled with Video on demand. For Economy Class, there are personal monitors for each passenger.

Passengers flying First Class and Business Class are privileged to get free 32 kg checked baggage while Economy Class passengers get up to 23 kg checked baggage. However, for carry-on baggage, all passengers get free 10 kg baggage.

History of Asiana Airlines

Before Asiana Airlines was founded by Kumho Asiana Group (formerly known as Kumho Group), South Korean aviation industry was monopolized by Korean Air. In December 1988, the airline operated its maiden flights to Busan and Gwangju.

A year later, Asiana began serving international route with flights to Sendai, Japan. In 1990, the airline expanded its Japan network reaching further routes, such as Tokyo, Nagoya, and Fukuoka. Then, it opened the door of Southeast Asian countries by flying to Bangkok, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

Asiana Airlines has been rapidly growing for the past two decades and it has become a mid-sized global carrier. In 2003, the airline decided to become a full Star Alliance member which led it to expand global routes in its network.

Asiana Airlines Policies for Infants, Children, and Pregnant Passengers.

  • Children with the age between 5 – 12 years old (International flight) and 5 – 13 years old (domestic flight) must be accompanied by parents or guardian at least 18 years of age or older.
  • A passenger with 2 infants/children less than 7 years old and elderly passengers over 70 years old will be allowed on board by using “Family Service” provided by the airline.
  • Infants should be at least 1 week old to be allowed on board.
  • Passengers with pregnancy under 32 weeks are allowed on board as long as there is no prohibition for flying from doctor.
  • Pregnancy between 32 - 36 weeks must provide medical preference within seven days prior to departure date.
  • Pregnancy over 36 weeks must provide medical preference within three days prior to departure date.
  • Expectant mother during 14 weeks prior to confinement is not allowed on board.
