Aviastar (MV/VIT) is an Indonesian airline operating under PT. Aviastar Mandiri. Initiated by experienced pilots and engineers in Indonesia’s aviation industry, it has obtained the AOC (Air Operator Certificate) in 2003.
The airline's main operation base is at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, with additional bases at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali, Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Makassar, Tjilik Riwut Airport in Palangkaraya, Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman International Airport in Balikpapan, and Nabire Airport in Nabire.
Serving 36 domestic routes throughout Indonesia, Aviastar regularly flies to these several hub cities, such as Balikpapan-Samarinda, Jakarta-Ketapang, Makassar-Selayar-Bima, Samarinda-Tana Toraja and Palangkaraya-Tumbang Samba.
Aviastar mainly focuses to serve air transportation needs in remote and undeveloped areas in Indonesia, especially Kalimantan and Papua, but still with a reasonable fare. Beside commercial flights, it also provides services to corporate and retail sectors (mining, plantation, forestry, tourism, and local governments).
It has two types of fleet, namely De Havilland DHC-6-300 Twin Otter with capacity of 19 passengers and BAe 146-200 with capacity of around 112 passengers.
This airline provides free snacks and free baggage allowance up to 15 kg to all passengers of flight using BAe 146-200.

No Show means the passenger of confirmed flight fails to show up/get on board, also has not made cancellation by the time check-in counters are closed.
Ticket will be considered used and not valid anymore for a No Show after check-in.
Aviastar has the right to change or cancel any flight if necessary for safety, commercial, and technical reasons. Aviastar will give full effort to provide flight substitution as soon as possible. This matter will be announced to all passengers through public announcement at the airport or by phone, directly communicated by Aviastar.
100% Refund is only available in the case that the flight is cancelled by airline.
Aviastar was founded in 12 June 2000 by a pilot named Sugeng Triyono, together with his four colleagues. Initially, Aviastar was a helicopter rental company.
In 2003, Aviastar, owned by PT. Aviastar Mandiri, obtained an AOC (Air Operator's Certificate) 121 as a commercial flight operating scheduled services. In its early period, Aviastar flew two planes of De Havilland Canada DHC-6-300 Twin Otter.
In 2009, it launched flight route to Nusa Tenggara using Fokker F50, which then added with BAe-146 to serve popular destinations from Bali, such as Labuan Bajo and Kupang. In 2012, Aviastar Mandiri using the BAe-146 became the first airline that served routes from Jakarta to Muara Bungo, Jambi and Silampari, Lubuk Linggau, and South Sumatera.
By the end of 2014, Aviastar has owned five units of DHC-6-300 and two units of BAe 146-200 to serve both commercial and chartered flights in Indonesia.
