  • Malaysia is open for all local and international travellers regardless of vaccination status and reason to travel.

New Test and Release Procedures for COVID-19 Positive Cases from May 1st 2022

  • An individual with a positive status for COVID-19 must be quarantined for seven days. They could end their quarantine period if they tested negative on day fourth. The RTK-Ap tests must be administered under supervision, either physically or virtually.

New Travelling Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures from May 1st 2022

  • For fully vaccinated travellers 13 years old and above/children 12 years old and below: - They are only required to present a pre-departure form (Travellers Card from MySejahtera). For partially/not vaccinated travellers 17 years old and below/travellers 18 years old and above: - They are required to present: 1) Pre-departure form (Travellers Card from MySejahtera) 2) RT-PCR pre-departure test 48 hours before departure 3) Supervised RTK-AG test within 24 hours of arrival 4) Quarantine upon arrival for five days (only for travellers 18 years old and above). Fully vaccinated travellers from the age of 18 years old and above; travellers who are recovered from COVID-19 within the past six to 60 days; and travellers below the age of 17 years old (regardless of their vaccination status) are not required to adhere to the pre-departure and upon arrival testing requirements. Travel insurance is no longer required for all travellers regardless of vaccination status. All domestical travellers must have their digital vaccine certification updated in their MySejahtera app before travelling. For travellers flying to Sabah, they must fulfil these conditions: - They must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (completing all doses). Travellers who are between the ages of 12 to 18 years old must receive at least one of the two doses to be allowed to enter Sabah. Travellers who are under the age of 12 years old can enter Sabah without being vaccinated as long as they are accompanied by a fully vaccinated parent or guardian. - They must present a negative COVID-19 test result taken from RT-PCR or RTK-Ag 48 hours before their departure date. - Travellers who are not the residents of Malaysia can only enter Sabah if they are: - Spouses or dependents who are Sabahan; - Permanent residents of Sabah; - Essential service workers and their dependents; - Travellers who are visiting investors under the invitation of the government of Sabah; - Temporary pass holders; - Travellers under the Malaysia My Second Home program; - Sabah visa holders; and - Eligible students from the higher learning institute. - Travellers who are not eligible to enter Sabah can still put in a request for entry to the Chief Minister's Department to get special approval. For travellers flying to Sarawak, they must fulfil the requirements below prior to departure: - Their proof of vaccination shows that they have fully received all doses to be considered as fully vaccinated; - Their "Low risk" or "casual contact no symptom" status on their MySejahtera application; - Their health declaration via the e-Health Declaration Form; - Their EnterSarawak submission for those who are not local Sarawakian travellers. Standard Operating Procedures - Face masks order are fully lifted except in buildings and public transportation, including e-hailing. - Social distancing is no longer required but strongly recommended at places/events where face masks are required. - Check-in via MySejahtera is fully lifted, and all individuals are allowed entry into any premises regardless of their vaccination status. - Individuals who are High Risks or currently on Home Surveillance Order (HSO) are not permitted to enter premises. - All activities prohibited by the National Security Council are now allowed to operate beginning May 15th 2022.
