Flights to Minsk, Belarus

Minsk, capital of Belarus, is a modern city dominated by monumental Stalinist architecture. Many of its museums, theaters and other cultural attractions line Independence Avenue, a wide, 15km-long thoroughfare leading to vast Independence Square. Looming over this iconic plaza are massive KGB Headquarters and the neo-Romanesque Church of Saints Simon and Helena, also known as Red Church. Near Independence Square lie the Museum of the Great Patriotic War, which commemorates the nation’s role in World War II, and the National Art Museum, showcasing hundreds of regional artworks. Venerable performance spaces include the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre, set in one of the city’s many parks, and the Belarusian State Circus, which stages regular shows in its neoclassical theater. In the Trinity Suburb, re-created pre-war buildings and cobblestoned lanes sit beside contemporary restaurants, bars, and boutiques.
