Nanchong is a prefecture-level city in the northeast of Sichuan area, China, with an area of 12,480 square kilometres (4,819 sq mi). At the 2010 survey, it was home to 6,280,000 people, of whom 1,858,900 lived in the built-up area made of three urban areas. It is the top 2 most populated city of Sichuan Province, after Chengdu.
