Based on the tales from the folks here in Sabak Bernam, Sabak Bernam is derived from the word ‘Six friends’ or Sahabat Berenam’. According to the story, it is known that there are a total of six people who are brothers met at fallen tree that was blocking the river of Bernam river. They acted cutting it and proceed up the river. In the initial stage, a small district of Sabak Bernam and Kuala Selangor to the Provincial administration center is located in Mukim Sabak namely in Pekan Sabak Bernam today. During the sub-district of Sabak Bernam to Kuala Selangor, there is no road transportation between the two areas and the only use of cross-road (bypass) the road known as the dirt road fuel is for the purpose of communication between the regions. The area of Sabak Bernam has been known as flooding area since in the year 1970 due to the location near the river.
