Beautiful, unique hotel with tremendous charm, all in hommage to the Muisca people and legends. Great free breakfast that you can have on the roof deck, and a super accommodating and friendly staff. Perfect location too - in Candelaria but a little higher so felt very quiet, and not overly-touristy.

Muisca has old world charm... There are 3 floors with a very narrow spiral staircase. There are no accommodations for those who are wheelchair bound. It's rooms are quite small, the amenities are sparse, and the walls are paper-thin. If it's comfort that you seek, this is not the hotel for you. Think more of a vintage hostel. When you leave for the day, to possibly explore your surroundings, you must turn in your room key at the front desk and be let back in, only after you've rang the doorbell. I made a 6 day, 5 night reservation, and after 2 nights--I cancelled the remainder of my reservation forsaking charm for comfort. If you are a traveler that requires very little, when considering a hotel then Hotel Muisca is for you

The place is charming with a lovely patio for breakfast and a rooftop terrace and social room where we could hang out. The staff was especially helpful when we arrived and our taxi driver tried to scam us. They paid the driver in cash a reasonable amount and told him to leave. We reimbursed the hotel the next day when we had correct cash.

I am so glad I chose to stay at Hotel Muisca on this trip to Bogota. The people are fantastically amicable, the space is beautiful and cozy. The beds are extremely comfortable, breakfasts offered were always served on time and with grace, and the Muisca images and paintings made me happy. I would recommend Hotel Muisca and look forward to staying there again upon my next visit to La Candelaria. Mil gracias.

I was really excited about my stay here but I was so disappointed! I arrived in Bogota from the US. I was greeted by an older gentleman who acted like I was an inconvenience to him from the very beginning. I speak little Spanish so I just assumed that maybe this was a language barrier, but it was not. I had a friend stop by the hotel with me in the evening to enjoy a beer on the hotel’s roof top (as the gentleman told me I could do). He then proceeds to tell me that I’m not allowed to bring in outside alcohol to the roof deck, only my room. He said that the hotel has a bar and this is a rule. Okay…. I was not aware of there being a bar in the hotel nor that this was a rule. I assumed it was just a cultural difference and said “okay, no problem, we’ll just sit my room.” Then he insisted that my friend could not enter my room because he was not my husband. What?! Sir, this is 2024. Also, is this not a hotel that I paid for? He literally made us leave the deck. He made me feel so uncomfortable that I just went to bed very early. I would have happily spent money at the hotel at the bar if it was allowed. At this point it was nighttime and I was too nervous to go out by myself alone as it is not very safe. So I felt totally trapped. The shower was filthy. Hair was on the walls and on the drain. The bed was horrible!!! I should have just slept on the floor. The breakfast was nice. The hotel was pretty. But I would not stay here again. This gentleman absolutely ruined my stay.

This is a very colonial era hotel, beautiful decor and ambience. The location is not bad, night time is a bit scary to go out. The room we had was nice, it was on the first floor. We really enjoyed the garden terrace and the rooftop terrace with a nice view. Breakfast was included and made fresh for you. It would have been nice if all the staff were bilingual in speaking English. Despite the language barrier all the staff were very accommodating, pleasant and friendly. We want to give a shout out to Carlos, Sharon, Claudia and the wonderful cook Angela for a wonderful stay. The taxi driver requested by the hotel did scam us on our way back to the airport, he charged us way to much compared to what the hotel told us.
