New Otani is one of favourite hotels in Tokyo and have 4-5 times. This time, unfortunately the first room we were given smelled of smoke, even though it was non-smoking. However, the staff were very polite and apologetic and upgraded us to a room with a better view. Also, they were very accommodating with a late check out.

Everyone at the hotel was nice and friendly! They were all so helpful. The area around the hotel had convenient stores, department stores, and public transportation, as well as many restaurants. Loved our stay. Perfect for our first trip to Japan!

I was a bit surprised during my visit to the Garden Lounge breakfast buffet. About 13 minutes before the posted closing time, a staff member declined my request for a coffee refill and told me breakfast was already closed. This felt a little abrupt, especially as I noticed other guests had just arrived and were still helping themselves to food. I believe a warmer, more accommodating approach, even close to closing time, would leave a much better impression.

The property is dated and in need of a refresh. The staff are lovely and couldn’t do enough to help. The hotel is a little out of the way and not near any decent tubes.
Unfortunately we were not allowed to use the pool or spa due to having tattoos. This was not stipulated in the Expedia review of the property at the time therefore poor expectations.

The garden is absolutely stunning, along w the personalities of all of the staff. We had an exceptional experience. The hospitality is next level. The location is wonderful, within walking distance of plenty. We often took the subway lines from the Akasaka Mitsuke station to venture to different areas; this hotel is in prime location to do so.

We loved the hotel and had similar great experiences in new Otani hotels in Osaka and Fukuoka. The one disappointment was yakitori Isehiro. The staff was rude and unfriendly. We were presented a course menu in English but not told about all the other options. They clearly don’t want foreigner customers.

The Hotel New Otani Tokyo Garden Tower was an absolute dream. The hotel and grounds are gorgeous, and our room was spacious. It also had a great view of the gardens and waterfall below. It is conveniently located near the subway and close to lots of restaurants. My kids and I enjoyed the pool and the lovely service. I didn't want to leave!

Very nice area, we found train transport quite convenient. Hotel was huge, took us a few days before we found the Family Mart located in the base of the building. We had the breakfast option and it was good. We had a large room for three adults but washroom was all together which made getting ready more tricky. All our other hotels had a separate toilet area and or shower area. Garden area was beautiful. Many of the restaurants in complex were luxury eating, so we did not use.
