This is a great, very walkable neighborhood to stay in when travelling to Kyoto. Lots of great restaurants within a 10-15 min walk. The Nishiki market with lots of shopping is also close. The room was clean, roomy for what you can expect in Japan, and had incredible blackout blinds. We had our best sleeps in Japan in this hotel.

Staff here were super friendly. Hotel were really clean and the water pressure in the shower was strong and hot water lasted a long time. Would definitely recommend

This is the best hotel I’ve stayed in my entire time in Japan. The rooms are spacious and neat. There’s a lot of things to do around the hotel, and the train station is pretty close

I like that it was only a couple of minutes from the train station and close to a lot of food options. The staff was friendly. My only caveat is that the fitness center smelled like old sneaker/trainers. It would nice to keep airflow or some type of air freshener in the gym.

Poor customer service after a long day made for an unpleasant stay. Amenities were also lacking. We booked this hotel specifically because it advertised a "fitness center"... but all they actually had was one stationary bike and some free weights. No treadmill, no elliptical, no proper cardio equipment. Every other hotel we stayed with in Japan that advertised a fitness center met our expectations for basic cardio eqipment, so it's not a regional semantic difference of what constitutes a "fitness center," but rather inappropriate advertising by this hotel. Would not stay here again.
