It was nice place to stay
The house is located in the jonker night market and very convenient to go all historical places. It is suitable to bring my parents and children to stay together in the house, together with my doggy. Just go down the house then it is the jonker night market, we just need to park our car somewhere else, and basically no need to drive car anymore during the vacation.

Delightful.
Simple and stylish. Newly opened according to the very charming host. Could do with a few more bits of decoration and a few more working sockets. The best thing is that it is two minutes from the hustle and bustle of Jonker Walk but it is almost silent after dark.

Don't go there!
It was listed as a deluxe room and it was not that! Beds were uncomfortable, aircon barely kept the room cool, and the bathroom was basic and not very clean and no western toilet. It was supposed to have a kitchenette but all it was, was a kettle and a couple of cups and a dirty, tiny microwave. To top it all off it was above a butcher's shop that was chopping meat most of the night and kept the kids and us awake. When we tried to contact the owner on the phone number listed it did not answer. The lady that let us into the room had very little english, only accepted cash and did not produce a receipt. It also promised a TV, but that was tiny and we could not find any channels on it. We did not stay our intended 3 days, but went to another hotel it was that bad!

Beautifully traditional inside, good location and pet friendly
We decided to visit Melaka at short notice and so we needed to take our small dog as well. I didn't know much about Melaka or where to visit and stay, but Ohana House seemed to be pretty central and of course accepted dogs. It was easy to find using Wayz and the contact person from the booking, met us within a few minutes on his bicycle and showed us the property. Its nothing special to look at from the outside, but don't be put off. Its a traditional house built 100 years ago or so and they have restored the inside beautifully. It has 2 large double beds, crisp clean white bedding and pillows. The bathroom and washroom areas are very authentic in a Malaysian/Asia style, running water features, basic but large and functional. There was a small dinner table and chairs, tea and coffee, free wifi and flat screen TV. All the modern features are hidden away nicely keeping the room area feeling very old school and lovely. Its a very short walk from the room to a busy market area on one side, a street of popular shops on the other and the main Melaka centre is not more than 5 minutes walk away, cross the river and you are in the heart of Melaka. It was a little noisy from the frequent tricycle motorbikes using the road directly outside, but this stopped at about 10pm. It was a little more expensive than other places available, but as its pet friendly you have few choices, however I was more than happy with the price for what we got. Be prepared to pay cash on arrival. security is good but you will have to use a padlock on the main door and the wrought iron security door outside. There is no reception, traditional check in and out process etc, because this gives you a very person feel of having the house to yourself, personal and informal check in and out etc. I would certainly use this place again. Carinissimo
Veramente una bella sorpresa .stanza molto carina ,tradizionale e pulita congiardinetto annesso.unica pecca gli insetti dovuti sicuramente alla presenza del giardino è L assenza dell ascensore per accedere con le valige alle camere del secondo piano
